If you can get away with dinging the tube to make it fit you can do that. But it sounds like you have a plan.

I got the new sprocket/chain on and it definitely helps. Thanks for the suggestion. The 10T/60T barely fit with the chain but they fit.

I think there's still a bit of a jerk of I give it too much gas too quickly. I really have to ease on to the gas starting on a hill. I'm going to see if I can rig up my phone to record what is going on back there when I'm driving it.

It was in a Comet sleeve (came with the go-kart) but judging by the state of the other things no clue. I can try ordering one and see what that does.

Comet belts simply cannot be mistaken for any other...

Make sure the shieves are clean and weights lubed with dry lubricant like graphite.
