my best guess for the age restriction on MMO is that it smells really good, and it might get you high, idk, i havent tried that lol

though its deff a good idea to keep it away from the little kids, it smells a little like a minty mouthwash or something, and its got a nice red color to it... "ooo! candy!" not good lol

and i looked at the little extra pieces of paper that i got with my receipt, both the MMO and Chemtool had age restrictions. im sure you could get high with the Chemtool stuff. (no i havent tried lol), but it does have a really potent smell, sorta like the smell of spray paint, and we all know ppl use spray paint fumes to get high.

oh, and today i cleaned the carbon outta the combustion chamber of my mower. there was more then i thought there would be, most likley cause it burns a little oil.. but from now on, until the end of the summer mowing season, i will only use gas treated with MMO in it.
taking the head off did ruin my nice new head gasket though :furious2:
luckily i had an extra new one around, i got two in a gasket set i bought for the engine during my class... but still, i hate ruining a new gasket :/
and im gonna need a new one at the end of the season when i check the results of my little test... this is the main reason i dont like taking the head off to clean deposits, head gaskets..
its all in the name of science though! lol

the same engine.
i cleaned all the deposits out before using it at the start of this season
and just took the head off today to see what the little running it did so far left, then cleaned that out.
so now if its still clean at the end of the season, the stuff works.

Ive bought both at walmart, and im 15. (though i do look a bit older). Havent really seen any difference using either of them. but i did notice a difference when i rebuilt the carb and cleaned the combustion chamber. Not really the easiest way to get an engine clean and running good but it works

so it helped keep the carb and combustion chamber clean for you?

even if it doesnt stay totally clean, i would be happy if it cut down on the rate carbon builds up by a good amount.

May make things worse.
No engine manufacturer recommends additives other than fuel stabilizer.
The truest test would be 100 hours with, then 100 hours without.
My money says it will worsen with MMO.

i already put my $3.64 +6% sales tax in. lol

i know how much deposits build up in a short amount of time, so we will see.

i chose MMO cause it was pretty cheap, and ive read mostly good reviews on it.
even if it doesn't help the deposits, i can still use it for a general lubricant, and to make the garage smell nice! lol

probaly gettin high because most teens these days have no lives and should just get a gokart and have fun that way.

That would be fine and all if it weren't for so many regulations and anything fun can get the cops called on you.

Why would there be a age restriction on MMO? I wonder what they thing Teens would use it for?

Probably the same reason they now add bitterant to cans of Dust Off

My GF makes my garage smell nice.
All she has to do is show up.

Is her name Gasoline? I love the smell of Gasoline... :roflol:

You wont get the same satisfaction from putting your "piston" in MMO.

carbon build up is mainly caused from rich running if the fuel mixture is set right carbon is minimal.

hey guys, i know its been a while sense ive been around, and i just wanted to let you all know i havent forgotten about this thread or the experiment here.

no, i havent taken the head off my mower, i kinda had an injury that kept me off my feet during the time i was planning on checking on the carbon deposits, and now its all cold out. and i dont have anything but a drafty, non-heated, super-crowded garage with a partially dissembled snowblower on my only workbench to work in, so its gonna have to wait till spring. sorry bout that. lol
but w/e deposits formed arent going anywhere, and i cant afford a new head gasket at the moment anyway (yeah, im that broke. hospital bills and other costs related to my injury arent fun lol)

but i dont want this to be a total waste of a post, so i will say that i have noticed that the spark plug hasnt been fowling up like it used to. thats a good sign anyway. lol
