He could put a sprocket on the jack shaft and take the pulley off then go to a 30 series CVT.

Will that work? I thought Tennhi needed a "divorced unit" with separate sheaves that can be mounted in place of the current setup.
Can you work up a parts list that will work with what Tennhi already has? You're the subject matter expert.

Is this ⬇️ a TAV2 or a Series 30, or both? I thought the chain sprocket [not seen in this photo] is on the wrong side of this CVT to work on their kart:

Why are we trying to fix what ain't broke again?

You'd have to move the engine over to the driver's left to where the engine shaft is right over the sprocket that is by the wheel. You need 4 slotted holes for the engine to mount to and you'd need to devise and determine the proper gear ratio for it all to work right

How many teeth are on the sprocket on the wheel? Don't guess, go count them. Just for giggles.

Wait, where is Denny? He is the subject matter eggspurt! :smartass:

You still have time to buy a Coleman or Massimo kart at Tractor Supply!

Lol.. I reckon my end goal is to have power to both rear wheels so he dont get stuck often and dont give up on it and just ride his atv instead... and im an idiot for not learning about all this before I gave way to much for this thing

We went from that, both wheels, to trying to make the one wheel more reliable with a CVT.
He has an ATV already? Man, he's spoiled rotten.

I m sorry ive wasted calls time.. it is what it is

Not at all. I think we were just trying to help and find the best solution for you. It is a major undertaking to convert the kart to a full live axle...

Perhaps try to get the kid into fixing this one with your help. Put a little elbow grease and sell it for a lil' profit. Find a new kart with new cash in hand. Get what you want.

Racing minis would be rad. Gotta have a wallet for that though. But to get a kid interested is a start. Good on you.

Yea, yea, totally spoiled rotten!

I spoil mine worse...

In fact, theyve nicknamed my garage "the magic box" since every broken thing that goes into it, comes out working better than before.

Has this kart been tested on the expected terrain yet? It not like one wheels cant leave pavement...

I still can’t believe the kart uses a loose looking belt from engine to pulley and that the ”belt clutch” is fixed and not variable. In other words, it is not a CVT. It looks like major slippage occurs and there’s no way I see to keep tension on the pulley. It looks undesirable. 😬

We need a video cause you have me doubting myself now... The belt is already at the perimeter of the clutch pulley. I would assume it would be dropped down into the pulley at rest, if it were variable. It should also have another visible movable sheave if it were a variable clutch.

I have something similar to what Im describing. Only its not a clutch, just a varible pulley that doesnt engage until a certain RPM. Hey, thats the definition of a clutch..

If you have ever changed a lawn mower deck belt, you know how hard those things can grab the pulleys, even when not fully taut.

Heres one wiht an example of the extra sheave. https://www.ebay.com/itm/156115460143?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr=1&amdata=enc:1YvaueGI3Rk6WVkPPl_1vag21&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=156115460143&targetid=2321310837104&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9057561&poi=&campaignid=21214302385&mkgroupid=161029887581&rlsatarget=aud-1317302328365:pla-2321310837104&abcId=9407524&merchantid=6382194&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21214302385&gbraid=0AAAAAD_QDh8Bz3n2spJNHdKP5hs1Qrr0q&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzPnRude-jgMVlyvUAR3_VT0IEAQYAiABEgLadvD_BwE

Found this also. From reading it, you get the idea that he just swapped the belt clutch for a 30 series TC.
