building a go kart from scratch has been a fun and wallet deflating experience lol.

I just love the way the roll cage lifts up on those hydraulic/air pump things. That is just cool.

Are your rear view mirrors useable, or does the cage/body get in your line of sight?

thanks, and yes the rear view mirrors actually are usable when looking through the only thing slightly in the way is that dam spoiler lol which blocks anything above it,but still good enough to see whatever may be behind ,however due to the mirrors being of an gsx sport bike their quite small giving you a smaller field of view but thats ok

hmmm....i never felt how strong or good a go karts braking power capabilities are,so this is very foreign to me, maybe im just a noob at all this and underestimate at times but somehow im not getting the confidence its gonna have good stopping power when i look at this small caliper and disc from the size of the kart..i dont know what do you guys think, its time to ask the pros, unless it applies the same rules to a car and brake system as being the same on go karts then im gonna probably need something better other wise the more knowledge you can share the better ,

ya'll are right its not like its gonna hit high enough speeds but 20-30, so hmmm.. i might have to go bother my neighbor about his broken motor bike after i finish this project gsx 1100 onto something like this oh yeah, life threatening, yet begging to be driven, well at least i have a slight idea of what i might be doing next after this lol

in the mean time i had to wait i finished fixing the throttle cable to pedal setup, and brake cable to pedals you guys gonna have to excuse some of my welding imperfections here as some were done after the kart took shape and was kinda hard to weld cus lack of space lol haha, finally bolted the seat to frame and back rest though i did remove the head rest as it wasnt gonna fit with the way i wanted to put it pushed seat back farther to give me more leg room, and the belt is bolted to the frame also, steering is rigid and nothing wobbles but steering has the characteristics of a car without power steering hope thats ok on a go kart so for now im at almost complete, enjoy

thank you for your suggestion,i extended cuz i wasnt sure if dirt and stuff would be flying in my face or not i never owned a go kart so im not sure what to expect from this haha, but if i find it to be just a liability later, i could always remove them

so you've got all this protection to keep you from flying out of the kart if you happen to crash/rollover... but all you have to protect your head and neck is a little hoop? unless you're REALLY short, that might be counterproductive to what you're trying to accomplish... other than that, i think it looks pretty sweet. :)
