Well I got my rims yesterday so I decided to mount them last night. She's a roller.

Got some more work done this week. Remade a motor mount so that the entire thing can be removed for easy motor removal. Went to the local junk yard and scored and mounted a nice seat and also started working on the steering. Even though I don't have a picture, the entire front end is stripped down and I finish weld everything.

Oh and before you ask, there will be a front bumper so the steering rack will be protected.

Looking sweet. Well done so far... Won't be long until your connecting up the throttle and giving it a quick blast down the street!

Edit: just out of interest how much has this project cost you so far?

Even though I only has 1 day to work on it, I think I'm making good progress.

Mounted Radiator:

Finished the steering:

Finished the pedals and brake master cylinder mount:

Worked on the shift linkage

And just a shot of my other toys. Gotta share the love

It's all a matter of how much room I have. I still have to get a gas tank and mount it in that space. If I have enough room, i'll move the radiator inside the cage. If not, i'll have to build a little radiator cage so to speak and leave it on the outside.

If you look at the picture from the front, you will see that the radiator is offset from the motor. That radiator is from a Honda Civic and will have an electric fan on it so I have no doubt it will be more than up to the task of cooling the 600.

Tinkering around the garage last night after work, I finished the shifter. I used the shift ball from my Camaro (it was previously taken out). All in all, i'm very happy with the way it turned out. I mounted it on bearings so it has a very nice and smooth movement to it.

Built a cage for the radiator. Finished welding and threw a coat of paint. I'm still going to triangulate the cage a little more but actually ran out of steal.

Now I have to concentrate on the rear swing arm. Need to add another pillow block, mount the rotor and fab up a caliper bracket. I'm also building in an adjuster for the rear axle so I don't have to use a chain tensioner. I'll still have to use one from the engine to jackshaft though.

I love it. You got a place to take that monster and see what it can do when your finished? Cause I know that's a problem around where I live, there's not many places within a long drive where I could take such a beast.
Looks great though!!!

And your "bends" in the square tubing turned out great!!!

It's funny that you mention this, it's the 1st question everyone asks me. And my answer is always the same. NO. LOL The fun is in the building for me. I'll worry about where to take it after.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Yeah, I definitely feel that way too. Its all about building it, breaking it, fixing it and have a ton of fun doing it. I've built a couple go karts for my friends just for the price of parts, even though I usually end up in the red, and spend 30+ hours of my life on something that I will ultimately give away. I look at it as "They are paying me to have fun!!!" And giving them away isn't so bad... haha... makes room for the next one!!!
