Got alot done today I wire brushed all the welds that took forever! Welded nuts to the swingarm for heim joints(which work flawlessly on the rear of the kart), cleaned and assembled the axle/carrier, some other small things, and i started mapping out where the plastic(or aluminum) sheet is going with cardboard.

Welcome to the forum kkEspana :cheers2:

i didn't do much today had to go see a movie at a theatre 30 minutes away

Just got some zip ties and re-fitted the cardboard plates correctly also i jumped on that coupon for some 3 ton jack stands from harbor freight I think it looks a whole lot better this way...
I started a thread on this in a separate section but does anyone know if plastic or aluminum would be a better choice for the body plates? Also where would be the best place to buy the plastic?

Ive only got a little bit more of the shifter to finish and i got the fuel system working correctly soon ill go and buy some aluminum i think for the panels i decided to bolt the fuel petcock and i found a way to bolt on one of the holding tabs for the linkage so it can be removed ill probably finish up the shifter and move on to rear brakes today which is my last day of school thank god and i only have one exam so if it doesn't rain ill walk home early and start around 10:20 i love exam week haha

Also i moved the pivot point on the pedal/push rod because i didnt have enough pedal travel

Today i was brainstorming about suspension i know im using atv or motorcycle shocks than i thought about using motorcycle forks for front suspension but after some thinking id have no way of connecting the top of the fork tube because most are aluminum
i could use a triple clamp to connect two of the forks to the top of the rear wheel shock tower and just the holes at the bottom for the axle to connect to the swingarm...luckily for me i bought a set of 1996 cr125 forks a while back to help me rebuild the forks on my bike so i have some extra fork tubes!
since the mounting holes are all clamps i was thinking how they could still pivot while being clamped... to my suprise skateboard ball bearings are 7/8''! (the same size as the hole in the triple clamp for handlebars so i think i may have motocross bike fork tubes as rear suspension...SO MUCH TRAVEL!(12.5 inches to be exact haha) What does everyone think?
sorry if that was hard to understand haha
Hows it sound??? i think itll work:D

Sorry I'm late, I only just found this thread.

I think that's an awesome idea; so good I may even "borrow" it for my next project... if you don't mind :D

Haha Thanks Bighead
First Day of Summer!
i decided to strip the seat, clean it and put a thinner layer of foam on when i can find some to have a bit more room that seat was too tall also i put the seat springs in. Now that i have the shifter in and the throttle im pulling the engine again so i can begin a rebuild soon

Alright so i tore the engine apart but didnt split the case...yet i forgot to take pictures halfway through tho... whoops it wasnt all that interesting. also i fininshed up the a-arms but part of one broke so i might do a single control arm setup i guess haha the kart is sort of a roller now... lots of pictures!! anyone else going to the Harbor Freight parking lot sale this weekend i know i am haha
Ohh yeah that weird picture is of the spindle i had to grind to bushing top off you can kind of see where the brass or copper melted into the steel as you can see it was a pain to weld for some reason probably too think there was lots of slag
