I got to about 6200 rpms with my stock uncorked predator with 18 lb springs with the stock carb and a cent clutch. Could be the tav/ gearing keeping your rpms down. The big tire baja heat type bikes are gear pretty high with out the jackshaft. Bigger carb will give you more rpms but you may loose low end.

i think the gearing has something to do with it and the torque converter, but i also think its the carb.

The way I have it geared now, id be ok with losing a little low end and i have pretty much decided on the mikuni carb, 22 mm.

Got all the mini bikes running and the go kart running, took it on a family vacation

I tried to fix this up all night, but ended up fixing it up by late morning. $80 go kart, plus $13 for lights, a few bucks for wiring, $40 battery, $250 (so far) for parts. Engine is going to cost a bit more now because I had some issues with it.

Also made a little amateur video of them riding around.

I put the 22mm Mikuni on my Briggs and it runs strong with absolutely no tuning.

nice! quick question, do you know how many rpms you get yours up to? Mine is planing out at 4300 and i think its a combination of gearing/torque converter drag.

I honestly have no idea. No tachometer. I have removed the governor. With the new carb it feels like I could keep spinning it up until it blows. I have to govern myself since it has the stock rod. I love the new carb. For the price you can't go wrong. And to perform like it does right out of the box is awesome. The little flathead screams. I have a video of myself doing power slides with it in the street but I don't know how to post it.
