2019 Build Off Winner!
Soo, I finally put the starter back together successfully, but now the carburetor came back to haunt me.
I don't have any pics of the situation, but I don't think they'd really help (for once), although I have attached 2 pictures of the parts diagram of the carb.
So the problem is:
I cranked on the pullstarter about maybe 15 times, and it wouldn't start but would kinda turn over. Then I noticed gas squirting out around the throttle shaft, which makes me think I need to replace the throttle bushing. But that's not the only problem.
When I got it, the carb had a nasty tendency to leak gas into the choke tube. Same problem here. But this time, since the welch plug and everything was installed, it kept the gas in.
Soo, I got curious and took off the air cleaner assembly.
And the choke tube was FULL of gas to the brim.
I didn't get a picture, but I drained it out.
so I'm thinking that it's got a bad seal or gasket somewhere, but I don't know where to start.
Oh yeah, and the really confusing thing:
Only when I cranked the engine did gas squirt out of the throttle shaft.
Why did it do that? I hope I don't have valve problems...
