I don't see why people have a hard time finding old Briggs motors. I just started asking everyone I saw if they knew where I could find one. I picked up 4 and have 5 or 6 that I can get when I want. All for free. Some were junk, some ran. The key is asking everyone. Someone will have one. Last week I got in contact with a guy that lives down the road. His best friend growing up was into kart racing and his briggs were built by A. J. Foyt's son. I hope that he kept some stuff and is willing to part with it.

Hey txluke: Can you post some pics of your 1955 Model 6?
Would love to see all the pertinent details--shape of the block, cylinder head (cooling fins), flywheel, what it looks like with the blower removed.
