Can you buy a Predator engine with an output shaft that long? It looks like it's 5-6 inches. Something is odd here.

Something is definitely amiss here. There looks to be too many washers or a large spanner/spacer between the clutch and the retaining bolt. Usually there are one or two washers, at least on the ones I'm familiar with.

I am becoming beyond baffled. Can you remove the clutch and take pics of both sides of it and the mounting hardware. Also a direct pic from behind showing the motor and sprocket to see if motor is in wrong spot.

This looks so wrong.

Upon closer inspection, the shaft that the clutch is on is definitely smaller, likely 5/8ths as someone mentioned. So somehow this smaller diameter shaft is connected to the motor output shaft, possibly with that bolt?. I hear alarm bells ringing, because that is not going to work.

No, idk, maybe, but to me it looks like that's just a spacer he used. Like he went to the hardware store and got a really long bolt because he knew that the clutch would have to go to the end of the shaft to line up right. Looks like the bolt he got was way too long and he compensated for it by using a piece if pipe to space the end of the bolt to the end of the clutch.

Idk just woke up, brains still adjusting, and eyes most of all, but would explain why chains popping if there is too much wobble because of that lol.

Idk but neither way makes any sense to me.

I agree with a location cause most of us would be willing to help.

Is the sprocket tack welded or full on wrapped?

Well i dont know if this guy is coming back or not but i looked up his old motor specs.
His old motor from his other thread had the option of having a reduction unit. That may explain why the clutch is so far from the side of the predator, difference in the offset.

Or i may be wrong too.

Holy crap thanks so much really appreciate it.....ok....

I got rid of the old motor the bs 5hp and bought a predator 6.5hp sooooo I installed that and tried using the 5hp clutch however found out it didn't work cause as soon as I started it... the dam thing took off on me so it was pretty funny, today I went to ts and they had a clutch but it was for a bigger chain so i will be ordering another clutch. I am learning as I go but yall input is very helpful. I am located in corpus christi tx more then welcome to stop by I'll provide the beer....ok...soooo this weekend or Fri I will be draining oil and removing govenor installing straight pipe thanks for the free metal from welding class and making holes in my intake cover for more air.

As for the sprocket it was tacked on there so today I took a saw saw to it and slide it to the right so it will line up better with clutch...again thank you guys I will get back to yall soon sorry I work full time and school full time but I will always respond....please tell me I'm on the right path

Measure the distance in between the teeth, that'll tell you what pitch you need for the clutch teeth first off. I'm guessing it's a #30 though.

Hit ebay, best bet for a cheap clutch, usually around $20.

Before you order a clutch, lets make sure that you get the gearing right. You don't want to buy a clutch with too many teeth, and then your kart doesn't move cos its geared too high. What is the tooth count on the axle sprocket, and how tall are the tyres? You want to get at least a 6:1 gear ratio. You divide the axle teeth by the clutch teeth.
