AI imagines it might look something like this.

It may take some time to figure out a way to design my leg and shoe into frame structure.

Seems as through I might have to use a flux capacitor to make my right foot positioned left of the center left hand “oh sh!t” handle.

It is very fast, so I assume the seat back shaped thing in the rear is a pocket parachute.

Let me be the first to say: What the he11 is going on in that picture? I can not make heads or tails of that, whatever that is.
Not all the A.I. generated images were that good.
Some were less fantastical.

But logic and reason can only take you so far.

“I say let the world go to hell, but I should always have my tea.” -The Underground Man

Go mad; be rid of reason. For you are a man and not a piano key. Drink your tea. To hell with reason.

Literary Reference of the Day:
Dostoyevsky’s on why the idea of Utopia won’t work:

And that is not all: even if man really were nothing but a piano-key, even if this were proved to him by natural science and mathematics, even then he would not become reasonable, but would purposely do something perverse out of simple ingratitude, simply to gain his point. And if he does not find means he will contrive destruction and chaos, will contrive sufferings of all sorts, only to gain his point! He will launch a curse upon the world, and as only man can curse (it is his privilege, the primary distinction between him and other animals), may be by his curse alone he will attain his object--that is, convince himself that he is a man and not a piano-key! If you say that all this, too, can be calculated and tabulated--chaos and darkness and curses, so that the mere possibility of calculating it all beforehand would stop it all, and reason would reassert itself, then man would purposely go mad in order to be rid of reason and gain his point!
Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Notes from Underground

I think we are all just grains of sand. Numbered and known, but nonetheless insignificant in the larger picture. The other day I saw someone's reaction to a picture of a junk yard, they called it pollution. I maintain it is no more pollution than a discarded bird's nest. We are not less entitled to live on this planet than anything else.

We are however the most destructive and self entitled species.

I should probably get back on my meds.
Off my meds I wonder about existential things.
Then my brain hurts when I can’t figure out answers to questions in 5 minutes that human kind has been asking for thousands of years.

Why infect the grains of sand with a disease called consciousness only to make the sand able to experience the suffering of the heat of the sun and the pressure of the ocean and question “Why am I a grain of sand? Is it my purpose to lie on the beach? Is that not the nature of sand to lie on the beach? Should I desire to be a pearl? Why do I desire at all? Only without desire am I free of suffering so I shall be content with my spot on beach existing as a grain of sand.

Good reason. We (fortunately) still have one place that sells bulk nuts and bolts. Grade 5 for $3.99/lb. I get 10 lbs every time inventory gets low...
Grade 5 is plenty strong for anything on a kart/bike/buggy or most anything i do.
Just a bit of trivia - fine thread is stronger. Anti seize is your friend unless he pi**es you off, then loctite is your friend!

I'm a bit late to the thread but I found this interesting. It should be true but at our track the concession karts have a terrible mounting system that stresses the bolts in sheer. Unlike my kart that uses an aluminum mounting plate, the bolts only see tension loads. Anyway we upgraded to grade 14.9 bolts and they last significantly longer before sheering. As I said terrible mounting system. I'm also not sure the bolts are properly pre-loaded but I'll work on that with them next.

Is pre loading a bolt the step in the ARC instructions where bolts are torqued to almost the full spec, then backed off before tightening to the required amount of ugga duggas?

I think with ARC rods you are compressing the two halves together, seating the clam shell bearings with the first tightening. Then to make sure the torque value of the bolt is correct, you back it off and tighten a second time. The second time everything is seated so 100% of the applied force goes to tightening the bolt and you get the correct torque value and thus the maximum allowable clamping force. In this case I think the max clamping force is limited by the aluminum threads not the steel bolt.

Pre-loading gets the maximum clamping force from a fastner while not affecting it's yield strength. Bolts are stiff springs. You basically want to tighten them until the spring is stretched to the point right before it starts to yield, or lose strength. This gives the most clamping force, doesn't affect the failure point. In stell that's how you define pre-load. Since the ARC rod has aluminum threads you can't get the maximum pre-load on the bolt, but you can tighten it so it doesn't want to loosen, or tighten it to the point before the aluminum would fail which is long before the steel is going to fail.

I recall this from school but it was a very long time ago so please excuse any slight inaccuracy in the explanation but that's the general idea..

Here is a report by NASA on all the torque values per fastener and what the material is. Pretty comprehensive reference.

So I unnastan what i'm looking at, (I'm purdy dense) the rectangle tubing in pic #1 with all the good stuff on it, is the main frame? No suspension?
That's my guess. 1.5 x 2 inch tubing?
You have a way of slotting the mounting points for the engine/jackshaft/axle? Just wondering about adjustments.
I think I read somewhere the tubing is .120 wall? This is a mini bike? Or an outrigger for a dual engine mega ton transport?
The tubing certainly up to the task if the former be the case. I like the heavy duty look that expresses.
Nice work! Just beware slippage at mounting points that are subject to our friend Tork! Never underestimate that!
