Uh, you don't want to do clutch drops on the raptor. It once stood straight up and landed on the rear subframe after my grandfather's hand slipped off the clutch while stopped in second gear. It's a real fun bike, and we got a deal on it. The story goes that the original owner bought it in 2004, and the first time he took it out he crashed, and racked up a $200k hospital bill. The bike sat in his garage for a while, before he traded it in on a Side-by-Side. The shop cleaned it up and removed all the spider webs, and my dad bought it about 4 years ago for $3,000. It still has perfect paint on the frame by the foot pegs.
And my grandfather has one of those 454s. The problem is that it's in his Winnebego, and he won't give it up. If he did it'd be in a mid 80s Camaro, after some performance parts of course.
My buddy let me ride his Raptor 700r , and I rode it with much respect.
I pretty much passed 1st, touched the throttle in 2nd and it picked the wheels up, and hit it some in 3nd and was gone, it was mean. Up there with my bro's quadzilla, but thats long gone.
Just throw some sandbags on the front end of the kart, she'll be right
Nothing beats the sound of a cammed big block chevy, thats for sure.
Motorhomes seem to be a good source of low mileage big blocks.
One day ill get my dads old car going, 1953 ford customline with a
big cam 454, 3in duel exhaust with flowmasters , saginaw 4 speed (cracked case, maybe clutch dump involved, wonder why, young and dumb) , 9in rear posi, factory drum brakes up front . He owned it since he was 16, rust free new mexico car, and he refused to paint it, its in primer till this day.
