Uh, you don't want to do clutch drops on the raptor. It once stood straight up and landed on the rear subframe after my grandfather's hand slipped off the clutch while stopped in second gear. It's a real fun bike, and we got a deal on it. The story goes that the original owner bought it in 2004, and the first time he took it out he crashed, and racked up a $200k hospital bill. The bike sat in his garage for a while, before he traded it in on a Side-by-Side. The shop cleaned it up and removed all the spider webs, and my dad bought it about 4 years ago for $3,000. It still has perfect paint on the frame by the foot pegs.

And my grandfather has one of those 454s. The problem is that it's in his Winnebego, and he won't give it up. If he did it'd be in a mid 80s Camaro, after some performance parts of course.

My buddy let me ride his Raptor 700r , and I rode it with much respect.

I pretty much passed 1st, touched the throttle in 2nd and it picked the wheels up, and hit it some in 3nd and was gone, it was mean. Up there with my bro's quadzilla, but thats long gone.

Just throw some sandbags on the front end of the kart, she'll be right :sifone:

Nothing beats the sound of a cammed big block chevy, thats for sure.

Motorhomes seem to be a good source of low mileage big blocks.

One day ill get my dads old car going, 1953 ford customline with a
big cam 454, 3in duel exhaust with flowmasters , saginaw 4 speed (cracked case, maybe clutch dump involved, wonder why, young and dumb) , 9in rear posi, factory drum brakes up front . He owned it since he was 16, rust free new mexico car, and he refused to paint it, its in primer till this day.

I have that same tire on my manco. Ps, they suck, but you shouldn't have any trouble doing burnouts, dognuts or drifts. Just don't expect them to get that thing to start rolling on leaves or grass.

And I was at a local car show one day, and heard a BB454 on nitrous with a big cam fire up and leave. I was standing 30 feet away and the ground was shaking under my feet, and I could feel my chest rumbling. There really isn't a better sound in the world.

And the raptor 700r's are faster than the reptor 660r's, but the 660s can be made faster than a 700r. And the engine is staying on the bike for now, since it's in good condition and because I don't want my headstone to read "Died on an overpowered go kart."

I dunno, there's a CLEAN '68 Mustang cherry red notchback in my neighborhood. It's got Cragar wheels and a 289(not the HiPo, just the mild hydraulic lifter one).

I drove my go kart down there one day, and it turned out he was trying to get it started as it had been sitting awhile. It didn't stay running, but it coughed a bit, and what little it did, sounded GLORIOUS!!

I'm a small block guy myself, but big blocks are reeeeaaaally powerful!

BSP forged crank, 55mm stroke
BSP performance T6 rod
Nr racing 252 rattlesnake cam, 230 duration
22lb springs
Chrome Moly Push rods
Maybe champion or roller rockers?
Genuine GX200 head, milled .050, ported, lapped to block no gasket, running 12.7 to 1 compression, probably cam2 leaded will be fuel of choice
Genuine honda GCV190 coil and flywheel
26? mm slide carb, port matched straight pipe
Shroud, recoil, ect from GX160

Just a budget build

Well, to keep costs down, I cleaned out an old genuine gx390 carb, and made my own port matched manifold. I cheated and bought the header, added the strap/ port matched it. It currently has the stock valve springs in for the cam break in, hopefully this weekend.

And I ordered a coil for the twin.

Anybody else got some one tire fire's to share?

Heeeeey, HiPo's MY thing! :roflol:
Copycat. :toetap05: ;)

Although, probably every Streaker had a "High Performance" sticker at some point.

For the record though, I was the first to call my kart engine a HiPo.

today I am putting the chain on my 50$ gokart with a gx270. i'm gonna name it lill' smokems

That should peel nice! Should put out sufficient torque

The new build survived the 20min cam break in, and gave it a lil sauce, stock valve springs tho. Seems like a winner. So now I can change the oil, pop in the 22lb springs, clutch, and burn some tire!
