Ac starter, interesting! Isnt that a bit annoying, cos it means you need a plug socket to run it? Spose you have a recoil too though.
I know its a bit off topic, but do you think you could grab some pics of where the forks bolt to the frame?
Thanks
Rob

alright ill take some pics.

i never said i was cutting it up, just swapping engines since tecumseh's are some of the best you can get. its about american vs. chinese. plus, more power.

however since my shaft is ruined, i have to save for a new one and that means i put the clone back on for now.

Ive always hated Tecumsehs, they have tons of problems , hard to get parts for, and are made cheaply.

tecumsehs have some poor molds/castings on a few parts, like the cooling fins and stuff, but that doesnt effect much, and im going to rebuild this carefully and correct any poor castings if i find any internally.

Briggs all the way!!!

dont have a briggs at the moment..... some day i will have enough money to start grabbing a bunch and restore them. i need to build up more tools to do it practically though.

well here is like the most awesome video i have made so far. best time riding too by far.

R_Chez, wow, sorry, the pic isnt on my phone anymore right when im about to upload it. ill go take another, but here tell me if this helps at all. there are bearings in a tube like on an electric scooter, with a lip, and a bolt through that, and 2 blocks welded to the side to prevent steering too sharp.

Ok thanks. What keeps on breaking is the weld holding the tube with bearings (mine works in a different way with bearings) to the frame. Looks like the design on ypur bike is pretty similar to mine, as far as support, so i think i might just get some steel plate and weld in little triangle reinforcing bits.
Thanks for the pic

ok, the ends of the tubes are crushed together then welded. i guess that helps so that the welds are over the entire piece.

what thickness is your steel and what are you welding it with?

The weld could be the problem, i mean no offense to you, i have no idea how good you are, but try going over them again and try to build up passes one overtop of the other and spread out.

That must suck having the fork break off while driving and having it go right into your face....

im not sure how it handles hills since i have not taken it anywhere exept my dinky yard........ but theres some hills at my friends house that ill eventually drive on. i can imagine that it wont even bog since it has tons of torque to spare.

Blue, I took my heat with a clone on some hills and drop offs, and gravel pits in this one valley and it handled it like a top! It had balls enough to do things my 500cc 4x4 quad did! Yours will work great with the 8hp tecumseh.

today i just did some intense riding at my friends house. and i drove it through everything! over logs, over jumps, and i hit this huge bump going up a 45 degree hill and i feel like i almost got a concussion, i felt the impact in my skull :worried2:

well heres my friends 90cc honda fourtrax sport quad against my bike. we raced, and i was beating him until he went to 3rd gear and he passed me :toetap05: but like i said, the low end was better than his quad's.

i actually think his quad may be lighter than my bike, or at least the same weight. i picked up the back end of it easily with one hand, where its tough to even lift my warrior.

sorry only just saw this. i think it was a combination of weld and design, but i have a new design now that i need to try. Thanks for the help
