Thats one of the best Chinese bikes ever, you'll be shocked what a TC does to that bike... you don't have to try at all to pop a wheelie. It does the work for you at that point....

nevermind

?

well today as i was riding, chain fell off because it was loose, and jammed up the jackshaft. tightened the chain back and the bike went good for a little but revved up once in a while for some reason.

noticed the jackshaft was messed up.. took it apart to find a sheared key.

i cleaned everything, put a new keystock i happened to have in it, and not its working good again.

im glad i caught it when i did or else it would have seriously ground up the jackshaft axle.

i need to make a clutch cover because the plastic one is SO cracked and messed up it doesnt even stay on at all anymore.

Should be picking up 1 older Baja Heat tomorrow, for $75 and also comes with a parts bike, not sure if its the same though. He didnt say it was... or it wasnt.

Planning on replacing the engine with an 11hp B&S, should be fun...

How low is it geared? I know my kart is somewhere around 6-1, I would think the bike is geared lower.

i had a key fail on my karts jack shaft a decent way away from my house. it happened while i was over some sand so when i floored it and i didn't go fast, i figured the tire was spinning, then i lost the momentum i had, came to a halt, floored it again, nothing happened.... i tried putting some wood in the key way to limp back home (after searching for the key of course), after a few failed tries, one stick held, i got going, then it snapped, the engine revved up again, and i came to a stop. some of the time while looking for sticks the engine was also still idling. eventually i gave up and got to work pushing it up and down a bunch of hills. eventually, some sand got thrown up into the sprocket (which is free spinning on the js with every step i push the kart) that sand did not help at all. about 2 weeks later i forgot it was broken, took the kart out, started it up, revved it to warm it up, stepped on the gas engine roared, no movement, then i remembered what happened..... a while later i went to go inspect the damage to see what had to be bought/fixed/replaced, and found the sprocket had seized to the js, i have also noticed a big drop in speed, i think the sprocket is slipping.

so that's my little story, exactly what could have happened to you, i really need to bu some lock-tite for my set screws when i re-build my kart.

BM800, the warrior/heat/minibaja's are geared 10:1. with 19" tires.

i took mine down the street once, holding back the governor arm under the tank, and i was FLYING! (at least what i am used to...) it seemed pretty fast but the engine was capable of pushing me much faster in a lower gear.

it seems like i can go straight up a hill with no change in speed.

r97, did you mess up the jackshaft assembly? it was not saveable? mine revved up twice until i realized what was going on. at first i thought maybe it was the clutch slipping. but then i looked down at the js...

The thing is fun to ride, took me a while to get used to it... almost lost it once. :D

It went up the hill I took it on pretty good, it did decrease in speed though. I had looked all over the thing for a battery, couldent find one so I thought it didnt have it, then I got it started and reved it a little... found out how the light works...

Man, Im excited to ride it more tomorrow!

ya once you get a feel for it, its a really nice bike.

the first time i rode mine, at the CL guys house, it had a burnt clutch so it was dragging... aha could not stop......

it felt like controlling a boat.

Nice, I didnt even ask the guy to try to start it up, I think even if the motors were blown I would have gotten them... seein as I gots a 11hp e-start B&S!

Man, I tell you what, them bikes are heavy! I may be looking into making them lighter somehow...

Do you know where I can get parts for the brake? I think it either needs adjusted or some new parts...

Looking at it last night, I noticed a few of the fins on the cooling fan were broken and some missing, think I should invest in a new one or something?

get a new cooling fin.

as for the brake.. mine sucks. its either barely any brakes, or alot of brakes and them sticking on.

the bikes are alot lighter than they look.

EDIT: had my fake gas tank break off again in the places i welded it back really strong... acually snapped the sheet metal...

New cooling fan, where abouts could I get one?

:roflol:

Now Im having issues keeping the motor running, it started then died. I started it then reved just in time to keep it running... thats a carb prob right? What should I do first?

Thanks.

Could it be idling too low?

these engines have a low speed needle thats adjustable. you can mess with that and the idle screw.

this looks like a good deal for free shipping too...

Now where can I find this low speed needle? Could you get a pic of it?

I rigged the throttle to keep giving it gas, seemed to have ammended the issue of keeping it running...

The fin on the other motor is still good, Ill just use it.

Rode it for several hours yesterday, the light mount(whitch had been repaired) broke... oops.

Something else I noticed after riding it, some of the exaust came unbolted

So Im thinking after I get the 11hp on it, or even before I think Ill be painting the fenders fake tank and motor shroud blue...

i am thinking of seriously painting the fenders with some POR15 i have.

i like the look of the heat more than the green warrior.

ugh i just HAD to put that nice sublime sticker on the rear fender.

i have to find a way to extremely solidly weld up that fake tank, so it never, ever breaks again.

Yeah, I cant say I particularly like the green... could be worse though, previous owners could have painted it pink!

I thought maybe a light green for it, but I think Ill stick with blue...

Let me know what you figure out, I was thinking about getting it welded by someone who welds for a living... or just weld it myself when we get our welder put back together...

Do you have issues with your gas cap leaking?
