lol, yeah it goes both on and off road, but once you get to about 25 the governor actually makes it slow down...

my huge problem is my parents are mad that i keep riding in the yard. and whenever i try to go somewhere its always cant. there is no place i can go.

right now basically i can sit on the bike, and i cant even move forward.

why does this have to happen.

Bummer dude...

Nice bike, I could have gotten one without to motor a while ago... but it was too far, i think it was like $50, ohwell

do you know how it handle hills?

im not sure how it handles hills since i have not taken it anywhere exept my dinky yard........ but theres some hills at my friends house that ill eventually drive on. i can imagine that it wont even bog since it has tons of torque to spare.

yeah, the only thing with it is even though i took the throttle stop out, when i go WOT it slows from the governor after 10 seconds, but i only took it down the road once, since my parents get so mad and im not supposed too.......... but not a huge problem for the yard since i have to stop by the time it hits max rpm.

Governor removal an option? Guess you would want to keep the parts to return to original if you wanted to sell.

ehh i had a very bad experience with governor removals.

if i would do that, i would get a billet rod. that way i dont have to worry about going to hard on it.

also my other clone governor removal, it never ran right. the throttle linkages were so messed up and when i changed the main jet, the threads all stripped out.

first thing im going to work on is porting the carb. i have 2 hyai (whatever the company) gx200 clone carbs to mess with.

wether the straight pipe gave me alot more power, or just the fact it sounded cooler, meant i was definately feeling some better performance. w/stock carb too. however, no one seems to like the noise but me! (mom, neighbors,)

on another note, WOW an ICE CREAM TRUCK just went by my house. its definately summer now!

How many horses? Personally i would leave the bike nice, maybe make a cool header with muffler and not play around too much.
Rob
Edit: looked up the motor. Hardly worth changing it for 7hp IMO.

GOT IT FOR FREE!!! well, almost free. i was going to trade it for a whole crapload of tranny parts, briggs parts, etc. but all he took was a briggs pull start and electric starter. what a deal!

nevermind the h70. its a tecumseh HM80

h70=7hp
HM80=8hp

too bad the shaft is 1" OD. i have a tecumseh H60 with a 3/4 OD shaft, i gotta see if they are interchangeable.

so i shot some prime into it, hit the button, and it started right up!

the only thing wrong with it was the pull start is broken but i can fix that. the electric starter works good.

i have to find out if the h60 shaft and hm80 shaft is interchangeable. i hope they are. :idea2:

and even if it was a 6.5hp i would still swap the engine because for some reason i just like the tecumseh flatheads. some of the best engines ever made. there isnt much EPA crap in them. and all american parts there.

I like your thining Blue, that will go a little bit better I would think. I am just wondering if the tank on the tecumseh might need some moving to help it fit.

yeah i think it will go great, tonight i freshened up the engine a bit by cleaning the panels and stuff and i removed that guard around the muffler so its a little smaller still.

it didnt come with a gas tank so the one in the pics is one from a 8hp briggs that i jerry rigged onto it. eventually once i get money, ill get a real tank to replace that fake one.

I would keep that motor for another project. Your going to cut up a nice mini bike for electric start? Then you got a battery. Your mini bike is fine just how it is. Put the pipe back on it and keep it nice.

Thats a very nice motor. Save that for your future buggy or something.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Learn to resist the temptation to stir the pot unnecessarily. If you don't fix something that isn't broken, you can channel your energy into a new creative project. In the long run you will have greater productivity.

My brother used to buy equipment at auctions. Whenever he bought something that was complete and working he would always sell a good part off of it. As a result he always had a bunch of random assorted junk, none of which would work unless he put a lot of work into it. That's not exactly the same thing, but it's similar. If something works, leave it alone.

the starter is 120 volts AC. no battery.

Ac starter, interesting! Isnt that a bit annoying, cos it means you need a plug socket to run it? Spose you have a recoil too though.
I know its a bit off topic, but do you think you could grab some pics of where the forks bolt to the frame?
Thanks
Rob
