Look at the pic I posted above, it is the standard setup for under the tank.

Your set up is horizonal where mine is vertical and wedged behind the tank against the frame. I will be messing it with it this morning after putting my son on the bus. I'll post updates.

You got it!

This is a pic of my kart I picked up the other day. To say she has some issues is an under statement. I have my work cut out for me. But her bones are good!

I spent a few hours cleaning, sanding and polishing the motor, drive and driven. The belt that was on was incorrect and along with all the rust, it snapped.

The drive is all complete and polished. I was able to run the RPMs up which helped big time to sand and polish. The driven needs another sanding and final polish. Once I get my new torque belt and can run the RPMs up to get some good leverage to sand and polish it. Then I will continue onto the motor the frame and just about everything else.

BTW - This kart has an electric start that wasn't hooked up (prob a good thing) I bought a push button start today. Anyone have a good quick reference on how it should be hooked up?

I think it is hooked up right. I think it may be that my battery is shot. I have had it charging for a while and will deep cycle tonight. Hopefully that will be the trick!

I am so psyched to get this project going! So far the "little" touches I have done are big improvements. Can't wait to get the new belt (still haven't found anyone that carries it) and run it.

That was it! I took apart the starter just to make sure. Striped all the rust off it, painted it with high temp black gloss, put it back on, charged it up and she starts beautifully!!
Time to celebrate!!!
:cheers2: :cheers2:

NEXT - Install headlights and start stripping!!
