Hello all!
Let me start this by saying I have read through a bunch of predator help me threads before posting my own so please don't think this is laziness, on the the issue at hand.
I purchased a new predator 212 at hf the other day and before installing in my son's go kart I figured I would pull the governor, looks simple enough. Welp sure enough the cam came out with the cover. So after reading the forms I found the info needed to re-time the cam and reinstall, what I didn't realize was that the push rods would also need to be reinstalled, obviously the engine wouldn't start, so I continued reading the form and found oh yeah I need to pull the valve cover and reinstall the push rods (duh) so I did just that, and adjusted lashing to .003. I've pulled the **** thing 100 times and she still won't fire, sounds like it wants to and every once in a while will even burp like it's starting to fire then just dies off. I tired disconnecting the oil switch with no change in results. I'm lost on this one? Is it possible that I have it timed on the exhaust stroke and not the compression stroke? Yes I suppose so but I actually tried testing that by pulling the cam and spinning the engine 180 and reinstalling the cam and not only would it not fire, but with this when I pulled the plug it was soaking wet so I pulled the cam again and reinstalled on what I believe is the compression stroke... Any advice would certainly we welcomed.
Thank you all in advance!
