That blue one looks like an older Margay kart to me. If do end up buying it; you can use this link to identify it by year and model.

http://www.margay.com/what-kart-do-i-have.html

I wouldn't be too concerned about how the tires look on the rims. Dirt racers typically run them like that. The roundy-round guys have wheel stagger down to a science; and will essentially control tire diameter with rim width. Since they are essentially only turning in one direction, they'll run taller tires on the right to aid turn-in. It's commonplace and safe.

If you plan on using this kart as a yard kart/hobby kart, it would probably behoove you to ask the seller if the wheels are symetrical or staggered. And if they are staggered, if they would fit you up with a symetrical set of wheels.

fabroman,

I completely agree with you, he is a tool and I think he has anger problems.

danssoslow,

Thanks for the link man, I appreciate that.

I'm not too concerned about the tires right now.
I'm going to do a once over and check everything especially for some kind of ID to figure out what exactly it is.

My plans, that's a good question. Once I get it home and give it a thorough cleaning and check all joints and everything else out, that's when I'll start a build thread.
I'll just leave you hangin until then ;)

Thanks guys :cheers2:

Holy Shmoly,
I was confirming that I would be there tomorrow to pick it up and
he said "someone had got in touch with me and offered me more"
I said "its your call"
he said "he offered me more, I'm going with him"

I did not respond in frustration and deleted the text thread. A few minutes later, I get a text. Him apologizing for the lack of communication and that it is mine.
Geesh, I wish I could go get it now and be done with this, its very stressful, hah. Especially after dropping some coin on a new drivetrain, oops I slipped :)

Thanks man, I was very disappointed with the previous guy. This one was a lot younger and ready to let it go.
I'm pretty excited.
I'm in the process of downloading them, once they are done I'll be posting them up.

Thanks

I'm actually quite confused myself.
The only thing I can think of is, the supposed "other guy" was a fictional character and he was trying to see if I would give him more money than his "other guy" offered.

Thankfully, it is all in the past now :)

I'll have those pics up soon.

That's a nice rig you got there; and that Horstman clutch is worth a pretty penny.

hehe, I'm a little jealous too ;)
Horstmann clutches are droolworthy ;)

Anywho, I think it would need just a little more clearing with the seat, that looks like it's in contact on the pictures.

Great kart, congratulations!

That's one of the reasons I've never gotten used to side engine karts; there's a lot going on to your immediate right. They scare me more than a little bit.

That, and I never got used to the sensation of having my feet stick out ahead of the front wheels. In a turn, it made me feel like my feet were dangling out. The same way you feel like ducking when you see something hanging real low, eventhough it could be a couple feet above your head.

That clutch is far too serious for my engine. That'd be like putting Ferrari rims on my Mitsubishi Outlander. :D

It could potentialy buy him a new Predator and cluth, though; if he so desires. I constantly see used, refreshened plate clutches go for ~$250.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy with it.

itsid,
If you're referring to the clutch hitting the seat, it is very close but there is no contact. I will check again tomorrow

danssoslow,
It has been a long time since I have been involved in karting, I am amazed at how much some of these parts are going for, hah.
This drivetrain will eventually be hitting the classifieds, that money will be put to good use :)

I'll be starting a build thread soon.
Thanks again guys, I appreciate it

itsid,
after a closer look, the clutch is not hitting, though it is too close for comfort.

danssoslow,
Hah, my minds going a million miles a minute.
It's so bad, I don't know where to start.
I think I might throw some gas in it and see what it can do before I tear it apart.
A couple of things I noticed is how low the tires are and there condition is less than fair, also the gas line is duct taped to the motor. Not good, hah. We'll see what happens after I take it for a spin :)

I'm more than likely going to start tinkering with it during the week though.
