Thanks jim. Really appreciate it. I'll defo have a look into that. I'm gonna use stainless for the shaft. And get some normal n6000 bearings. I've got a 14 tooth 420 sprocket for £3.50 FREE DELIVERY!!! Its a driver off of a pit bike.

WHOA!!!!off a pit bike? Is it a splined sprocket or a keyed hub?

From a pit bike and its splined to suit the driver.. But for that price I don't mind boring a circular hole in...also my boss has got a CNC gear cutter. He says it can make a sprocket...
But it always being used. He can make me one for free but I need to book the machine a month in advance...

Hmmmm.....as part of your rehabilitation.....I would suggest martial arts training. .....I think that middle finger may get you in trouble. ..:lolgoku:

It sucks how fast things can go south.....and then you really appreciate what you DON'T have......

Yh I know man its a mess. I did actually do thai boxing (mauy Thai) for a bit when i was 15- 17 bit I won't be able to fall over with out this finger breaking again..... I've got to watch it.....but if we don't make mistakes well never learn from them.. Still hurts like a stitch though..the only rehabilitation I needed was THIRST aid.. :cheers2:

So I've got two weeks off work. Going away next week....
On my last day one of the lads gave me a push in the kart to test the steering in the yard...
I wasn't too happy with the live axle and really considering going driven wheel.. The steering is Affected by the live axle. ( no differential ).

Which I new would happen but I just think it may be better with the solid spindle axles...

What do you guys think. I need to sort this before I can put my brakes and sprocket on
Cheers boys...

Now, how did I know that was gonna happen :roflol:

You have a few choices:
1. One drive wheel on the axle, keyed to the axle & one free wheel with bearings
2. Split the axle; this will require twice the hardware but, will give you a bit of variation
3. Improve the steering geometry
