Well.....One step forward....two steps back....
I had it going.....dropped in a can....and boom....stopped dead in it's track when it hit the can.....
I think the motor has plenty of power...and even with the barely assembled motor mount....that side seems fine....
For those that have followed and remember.....I said the drive wheel had a hop in it....and it would have been a good thing if the belt got tighter through the crush zone....(which it didn't) ....I thought then I may have to make a tensioner idler.....and probably will....because that's the weak point.....it hits the can and the belt slips at the jackshaft......
Also....I said at the start....this was a prototype....and I was going to build it to a level that I thought would meet the very minimum requirements....so that all the potential weak spots would fail....and I could be confident that upgrading the next one would insure success.....
Ironically....I tried so hard to slow this thing down....that if it were just a hair faster....it would probably crush cans with momentum....
All in all....I'm pretty happy at this point....I've learned a lot...and have a semi-working prototype so I can modify each part for better performance....
