Been a few days and I haven't been able to get new tires so I just borrowed one off number 2 for the time being.

Since 2 doesn't get the abuse that 1 does I put the rim with the chipped bead flange on it. Well now going back to the other kart I decided to tear down both wheels and reassemble 1 good one.

Upon assembly I found that I had broke one half of these mags. So, this makes 2 halves that have damage. I might try to put some JB weld on there to try to prolong certain death. And I'll put it on #2.

I wonder how long the rest will last.

And as an update, the front axle mod and belly pans are holding up and doing a great job. There still no debris cought up inside and only what stuck to the flung grease.

The front end will need some more abuse to tell for sure but it has made a positive improvement on the feel of the frame by taking all the flex out.

Today's endevor was a fail.

The track is in desperate need of grooming. Ruts and whoops are starting to form. The ground out here is hard and dry. My harrow just skips along the top and doesn't do much. Rain won't be here till July, so I tried to make artificial rain.

I'm gonna try to attempt to make a gravity fed watering bar. I'm gonna start small and go bigger as I need.

I dug out the old tree sprayer tank and found some 3/4 PVC. I had to run to our little town and picked up a few pieces, a T, a couple end caps and whatnots. Spent less than 5bux.
Found a gate valve and reused the hoses.

I marked the pipe at 2" increments and drilled 1/4" holes at 8" increments.

Real quick I realized that would not be enough. I then drilled out the other holes at 4".

Filled the tank and drove a lap. It wasn't enough. Grabbed the drill and went to town at the 2" marks.

Made another lap. Still not what I was expecting.

I made the total length 10 foot wide. It seemed the water prefered one a side or the other. It didn't spread evenly. I'm gonna try taking half of it off and see what 5 foot will do.

It's a trial and error thing.

So now armed with my race ready electric starter, I get the engine to cough and sputter to life.
Now I can finally dial the carb in. It took a few tries to get it but boy does this thing move. I clocked it with my phone GPS at 35mph. I know I can get better than that!

But these rear tires are slick and one has a hole large enough I can stick a 3/8 bolt in it. Tubeless type rims and full of old fix a flat. Nasty.

I need tires.
Debated about sticking with the 18 inch size that was already on there or go back to the stock 22 inch. I knew this would affect the final gear ratio and I wanted a tire frier. So I decided to stick with the 18 inch.

Tread pattern was also a concern. Turf tires are a not aggressive enough but the knobbies were expensive.

I found a compromise at Walmart and had the lowest price at 44 bux each. We'll see how long they last.

Here's pics of old and new. See the bolt I stuck in the old one? Lol.

The bead breaker has been used a million times. I think my grandpa made it and has served the farm well.

Pic is a mock up for the sake of pics.

That bead breaker looks a lot like my reloading press..... Make it dual purpose...

Just now catching up railrider?:roflol:

Got several shotshell presses already. 2 were modified with pneumatic cylinders. As fast as you can set a wad and empty shell. 200+/min if you can keep up.:2guns:

200 ...I just reload a box or two at a time...my shoulder can't deal with 200. its fun to go custom loads though..try some split shot on wire fishing leads... Does a number on a card board box... I haven't tested them on an intruder ...

Wonder how the trap guys would like the split shot idea.

We keep the powder light, 1 it saves powder and 2 it saves your shoulder.
100 rounds no problem.

Off another thread I started I found a remote that would work for our toy. Pretty cool. It has motors that move it on 2 axis. Control for either left right, or up down, or both.
Now we dont have to be teathered to it to pull.

Not much with the karts lately.

Some of you might find this interesting so I'll share here.

Went wheeling to test out my uncle's new build. Mine suffered from hydraulic failure and had no steering. I parked and had to hitch a ride. Ran 3 of the extreme trails in area and then went out scouting for more areas to open. The pics are of the new buggy. A Sprint car chassis, a v6 out of a Camero turned backwards. Custom everything. Even the diffs are turned upside down to make the gears turn the right way. Other than a few kinks here and there it performed flawlessly. The big blue rig is a beast on 49s with dual steer rockwells.

Found a link to four-wheeler mags article they did on the event we help host in October. I made the cover photo. I'm the guy on the top of the waterfall spotting.

I'm getting excited. Our racing season starts this weekend. I get to go play with methonol.

Here's a pass down the track. Sorry about the sound. It is real hard to get 525 cubic inches of blown alcohol in that little pinhole microphone.

A youtoob search for Southwest Superchargers will bring up a bunch of vids of our group from the past years.

We run a 7.6 index. That's in the quarter mile, but most of the tracks around here can't handle that speed and make us run 1/8 mile.(poor track prep and short shut down area) So that puts us at a 4.7 second pass.
Were pushing 1200hp.

Get real, get MOPAR!

Been karting the past few nights. Been thinking of adding to the track. The big loops are a blast, but I want some variation. Started making a small oval around the little orchard. Measures just under 500 feet for the loop. It's egg shaped real sharp on one end and a little wider at the big end. It's rough now and couldn't get the feel yet till I get some grooming on.

Here's an over view and the courses plotted. Makes it nice to be able to take various routes and switch the rotations. To give a scale that's about 5 acres .

So today on our morning walk, I pass the field hand. They have been planting and moving tanks around and the traffic had been making lots of dust. To make the neighbors happy he brought a powered water sprayer and was doing the roads around the field. I mentioned to him I need one of those for my track. A few hours later I hear a tractor out the kitchen and look out and see him making laps with the water blasting. He laid down enough water to get a good couple passes with the harrow. Such a nice guy. But buy the time I went out he had left the tractor here and left in his truck before I could go thank him.

Attention! Another step closer to blowing up another one!!!

I sat and made some cardboard models and decided the price was easier than the fab work.

I now own an adjustable coil mount. Hmm.

Looks to be of decent quality. I'll give better pics and a better review as I install it

So as we all know. Guaranteed to fit aftermarket parts NEVER fit!.

Maybe I was ignorant in thinking all coils are the same?
What was I thinking, nothing ever cross matches.

The backplate came with larger bolts than what's used on the B&S, and the distance OC is .15 of an inch off.

Ok. I can weld the holes up and redrill and countersink for a smaller bolt.

Well the coil doesn't fit in the slide bracket either.

Can't really blame the mfg, there was no mention of fit or no fit for diff engines.

Stay tuned. I'll figure something out.
