So now armed with my race ready electric starter, I get the engine to cough and sputter to life.
Now I can finally dial the carb in. It took a few tries to get it but boy does this thing move. I clocked it with my phone GPS at 35mph. I know I can get better than that!
But these rear tires are slick and one has a hole large enough I can stick a 3/8 bolt in it. Tubeless type rims and full of old fix a flat. Nasty.
I need tires.
Debated about sticking with the 18 inch size that was already on there or go back to the stock 22 inch. I knew this would affect the final gear ratio and I wanted a tire frier. So I decided to stick with the 18 inch.
Tread pattern was also a concern. Turf tires are a not aggressive enough but the knobbies were expensive.
I found a compromise at Walmart and had the lowest price at 44 bux each. We'll see how long they last.
Here's pics of old and new. See the bolt I stuck in the old one? Lol.
The bead breaker has been used a million times. I think my grandpa made it and has served the farm well.
Pic is a mock up for the sake of pics.

Mopar:I'm getting excited. Our racing season starts this weekend. I get to go play with methonol.
Here's a pass down the track. Sorry about the sound. It is real hard to get 525 cubic inches of blown alcohol in that little pinhole microphone.
A youtoob search for Southwest Superchargers will bring up a bunch of vids of our group from the past years.
We run a 7.6 index. That's in the quarter mile, but most of the tracks around here can't handle that speed and make us run 1/8 mile.(poor track prep and short shut down area) So that puts us at a 4.7 second pass.
Were pushing 1200hp.
Get real, get MOPAR!

Attention! Another step closer to blowing up another one!!!
I sat and made some cardboard models and decided the price was easier than the fab work.
I now own an adjustable coil mount. Hmm.
Looks to be of decent quality. I'll give better pics and a better review as I install it
