OK. I'm bored. Time to revisit the fat girl.
Found out it's a "freedom scooter" model 975.
Can buy them from American wheelchairs dot com for the low price of $489. Does 17mph and gets a whopping 120mpg!
But it's only got a half gallon tank so I don't think I'm gonna make it to town on this. Perhaps a Jerry can mount is in order.
So I put this fine specimen on the table and broke out the wire snips. The tail lights were busted rusted LED junk. It has turn signals. One was missing completely so off they went. Following the wire harness led me to a battery and wire mess. I found the ever important Killswitch wire and gently snipped the rest out.
Followed the harness up to the handlebars where a headlamp and more busted rusted LEDs they called an instrument dash was. Removed all but the starter button wire. It will be used as the kill button.
Pulled the left handle grip off and removed the electrical gizmo that had the horn and blinker controls. Also clipped the brake light wire that was not removable from the lever assembly.
All that's left are the brake and throttle control cables, and a kill button wire.
With the ugly plastic helmet off, the top end is gonna clean up nicely.
The fuel lines are junk and the carb probably needs a cleaning but it does run on carb cleaner.
The pull rope housing is cracked and JB weld is needed.
Engine is looking like it's a go.
It has a gear box on it. Probably needs a little lube but spins freely and the clutch seems to operate. The gear spun during the cleaner run.
The chain is #25 and I don't see a master link. Didn't look to hard. Gonna soak it in gas then oil and see if it will work for a while. It looks more rusted than wore out.
The front wheel seems good. The bearings roll freely and the brake sticks lightly. A lube job should fix that.
But the rear tire.........
Bad bearings. Different sizes. Hmmm. I think someone's been here before. There a center spacing bushing but it's about an inch and a half too short to function. And there's no outer bushings.
The wheels are 2 piece and a brake drum and sprocket are bolted to the outer hubs. Both sprocket and drum are loose and the bolts are crooked. R&R nesesary.
The fight was on. Rusted steel bolt in an aluminum hub is a bad mix.
But out of the 5 remaining bolts I only broke one. Had to drill and tap. This was all good till I broke a drill bit off way down in the hole. Good luck getting that out.
I managed to get about a quarter inch of threads made and it will have to be a stubby bolt. I think I'll mark this side and make it the brake drum side. Who needs brakes anyways.
Looks like most of the work is going into the rear wheel.
The brake housing has some rub wear in it. I think it might survive. Hopefully I can get this rolling for what ever bearings and fuel line cost.

I have about .0009% education on gearboxes, but I would take it apart and regrease it.

The first thing I think I'd do, is go find a few different colored spools of wire; maybe 14 ga or so.
Cut them into different lengths, and stuff them everywhere you can inside the frame.
That way when you part with this gem, the next guy who works on it will be absolutely dumbfounded as to where all the wires go and what they're supposed to do.

How did you put a tube in the rear tire? There's a recess for the air nipple but after the sprocket and drum brake are installed you'll never get to air up the tire with out removal.

It's symmetrical. The brake assembly coveres one side completely. The sprocket side has some room, but I don't know how it would ever work. There's no room for an air chuck to get in there.
The tube would need and elephant's trunk to clear everything.

After all these headaches are eliminated by adding a predator and a go kart rear hub you can sell me that old motor and drive tire. 
I got one for my kid to goof off on. I gave $75 and spent about 2 hours getting it to run.
