Sorry if you have already posted, but what size springs are you going to use?? Hard to tell scale, but they look like quarter ton ??? No torque converter???
I don't know what size springs they are, but quarter ton could be right. I will never buy suspension off the internet again!:surrender: they are much too stiff so I had to hinge them right up close to the frame to get any movement. And no I don't have a torque converter but I think I need one. do you know a thread about them so I can educate myself??

alright some more pictures:
IMG_0045.JPG My biggest angle grinder at 2100 watts, cuts very nicely.
I finished building my front hubs today:

Ok yeah! that big angle Grinder will mess you up in a hurry! WOW.
I nicked myself a couple times with the 4".
All I was saying is "One does not simply nick themselves with a circular saw!" LOL

yeah
so I did a bit of work today.
besides cutting steel and humans very well, the big angle grinder also sets clothes on fire.

and I got everything up here all nice and functioning, no scraping metal when the wheels turn so i'm happy with it.

bit of aluminium to sit up under where my feet will go.

Nothing beats the thrill of being on fire...both figuratively and literally speaking. You should have been wearing the brown pants when that happened lol. Hope you didn't burn your skin too badly.

Turbo lag? Oh you mean the courteous head start.

I didn't burn myself...
two weeks might have been a bit optimistic, but we'll see what happens...
IMG_0009.JPG I actually went out and bought something:smiley_omg:!!!
IMG_0011.JPGIMG_0013.JPG
getting the paint going, I tested it on this electric motor and found out it takes a lot of work to remove rust!

started painting today, it's brown!

and blue!
IMG_0021.JPG
running out of brown paint but I should be able to finish it.
a lot of wirebrushing and welding and sanding happened before I painted, not very fun.

So I can get a torque converter from a reliable Australian website (http://www.cutpriceracing.com.au/store/home.php) for AU$199 (US$152) I'm looking at a Tav2 30 with a #35 12T sprocket and 3/4".
I can also get it from two other places on ebay for AU$169 and AU$148 (US$129 and $113). I'm fed up with paying for things (I am 17 and don't have a job) so I think I will go for the last option unless someone advises me strongly against it...

Never heard complaints of cheap TC, just buy quality Comet belts which cost a premium.

A designer knows he has achieved perfection, not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

I am on the verge of ordering my TC...
Edit: If I don't use the cent. clutch, is there any chance of me reselling it, or should I just keep it lying around?
Edit: the TC is ordered! and it will turn up about thursday next week

So I worked a bit on the throttle today.
I wasn't getting full travel; the valve would not go all the way around so I tweaked some things and fiddled with things but nothing fixed it.
IMG_0075.JPG
and then, I added this small bolt.
IMG_0076.JPG
the problem was, The piece that this held in place was bending, and this limited the throttle travel. Now it works great, below are two pics of the throttle in idle and in open position.

Should it be this tight? I have looked at other pictures and it looks a lot looser, or does the belt stretch over time?
