Wheel color?

So on the Bierkiste, You could not have missed that the Wheels are RED.:ack2: Might as well be Orange :lolgoku: Anyway they just came like that when I got them on Craigs list.
The red has to go, It just does not go with the Copper. The base of the Krate is black Flex seal, I am thinking of doing the rest of the Frame in black too, anything else would clash with the Copper.

But Should I do the wheels Black too?
I do not usually like black wheels, looks like the hub cap fell off!
Any suggestions on the Wheel Color.
Copper maybe? I dunno metallic rattle can paint always looks so cheap?

But how Did Hasslehoff Build this Bierkiste?
Same way he torn the wall down or by wearing red speedos.. we'll never know :D

Anywhoo, that's really cool indeed;
if I had to find something it'd be the fake gator ...
I don't think I like that too much
(especially since I think the grain should run front to back, not left to right)
but that's just nit-picking.

I like the copper...

I think it'd look awesome if you pick your favourite beer (or make up a beer label on your own)
then make a big stencil and with just some darkened clear coat spray it on the sides and maybe a decal where needed..
something like this
IMG_5254_logo.jpg

it'd add a bit more beer to the crate ;)

Thanks. that does look cool! Oh and Duh! Suddenly I get the Hoff Joke.
You Just gave me an Idea.
I know you being German and a Purist with the Bierkiste this wont fly but...
No one in Ca or USA for that matter would know what it is supposed to be. So along those same idea lines something like this. An old Rat rod shop truck where the name on the Door is barely Visable through the Patina.

Oh and the Alligator skin, I wanted the design to flow the other way too, but the way it is made. When I bought a half a yard (still twice what I needed) It is cut the opposite way:(
I may still chang it who knows. What I really wanted was a Heavy Suede Leather.

I remembered I actually have a Brown and White Cowhide.
But i remembered after Mrs Chancer helped (ok she did it) do the current seat.
So we may have Cowhide by the time this is Done, Just gotta wait and figure out how to make it her idea! HEHE.

Oh and unless you enjoy riding in Trunks! Forget about the truck!

Problem with this Idea and this picture is, There are 1" Gaps between my slats.
Almost anything you try and put on there would be illegible.
It looks ok in the pic, but remove the gaps and it is nothing.

Not really.. the word needs to be short (i.e. big) enough or skewed enough...
on my monitor the contrast between the slats is too low for me to see.. I still can read that.. okay.. bad example.

Now here's what you could do:

just make yourself a template on the computer,
a copper tone (hehe kid butt *giggle*) background, a layer for your test lettering, and a top layer with black bars covering as closely as possible what'll be between the slats.
have that, take a few steps back and see ...

The brain is able to fill in huge gaps
you need only about half a letter to read it, you need 3/4 of a word to read it; and if the lettering (specific font / layout) is part of the recognition (hence me saying logo...) it's even easier.

I like the red wheels. Lots of black bobbers and rat rods out there with them, tried and true combo IMO. Now back to your regularly scheduled brain discussion ........

Oh yeah. With some White walls. This thing kinda looks like one of those rat rods with the slammed body and the Tall rears tires.
Ok so MS paint is not my thing but look

Funny....that's what I told my band years ago: "Just get the start and finish of a song right...and most people won't catch the mistakes in the middle.....

BTW: Were you sleeping? Don't you know Poboy has entered the competition? Better run now!!!! (Avoid the embarrassment....)

Do you know anyone with a lathe that might be able to take a little off if the rotor to make it work? I'd do it for you, but by the time it was shipped both ways you'd probably be going backwards money wise.

This Brake rotor is about 7 1/2" in Diameter. I need it taken down to 6 1/2". It also appears to have tiny surface scratches on the surface, Like when a woman continues to drive after the pads are gone and the rivets trash the rotor. I wonder if it can be turned like a regular car rotor.
