Been a month since your last post. Interested in how you made made out with tires and new jets for the clone. I just purchased my engine today at Princess Auto (GX390 clone)on sale for 299.00. Planning on opening up the exhaust and intake similiar to what you did and wondered what worked out best for modified jetting? Great pictures BTW, learned alot just by reviewing your progress. Started mine last week, will start my own thread once all the parts arrive.

hey thank you! new tires arent on the way for about a month or so! i just ordered a few new jets a week ago and im still trying to find out whats best for it! but if you want to go and order jets before i know whats good ill guess and say a #100 would be best. keep us posted on how your build goes!

have you tried adjusting the shocks? normally on the shock body, there is a welded tab. the collar that holds the spring turns for stiffening the spring. course, the shock valves could be bad, or the springs just too heavy weight. i guess you will be running the driven on one side of the f/n/r gearbox (my hyphen button no longer works), the sprocket on the other, thereby eliminating the need for the js. mine are set to the lowest level, but will still try to bounce me out of mine. this is due to the springs. they are made for speed and onroad/level riding. jumping requires lighter valving and lighter springs from what i gather from motox bikes.

Question. I picked up PA Honda Clone same as yours, just got my Comet 40 TC today and that sucker is 4 inches wide. The shaft on my clone is only 2 3/4 long. Bolt does not even reach with TC in place. Did you just use a longer bolt? or is your engine different than mine? Normal honda is 3 1/2 inches long according to what I read.

haha ya no problem man! maybe someday but not for a long time! where ya from by the way? i live just north of red deer!

im about 40km your side of cold lake.. live in bonnyville.. lol

if you're interested, theres an 81 cb650 engine for sale outta red deer on kijijii.

one running engine, one parts, and all the wiring, CDI, lights etc etc.. 400$..

Im kinda eyeing it up, and if theres even half a chance i can afford it, and the fuel to run there and back, I may see about getting it this weekend.. hehe.. buuut its not looking to good atm.. lol

I still think it would make a pretty good engine for a kart.. lol

however, theres prolly better suited engines, etc.. but the fact that it has everything need to install and run is like gold.. meh..

its one of the better deals on there atm anyhow, and if i had cash to toss out, id be on it.. Im just kinda shying away from this 440 arctic engine.. rather use a bbike engine, which less likely to heat up, and I would enjoy shifting.. lol

@Old pat

hes using a TAV torqur convertor.. sorry, all i know about em.. I have comet TCs, which are essentialy the exact same thing.. lol

do a forum search and you can find out plenty abotu the TAV..
