For $48+, probably could make a jackshaft for cheaper than that by almost half. depends on how good you are at scrounging.

use a jackshaft and put the 3/4 or 5/8 clutch on the jackshaft. somthing like this but the clutch will go on the jackshaft instead the engine shaft. just somthing to think about. use this http://www.mfgsupply.com/gomini/gominiaxles/gominijackshaft/gominijackshaftkits/az1824-14.html and this http://www.mfgsupply.com/gomini/gominiclutch/gominiclutchcent/gominiclutchcentmax/4-457.html im shore if you look more you can find a cheaper jackshaft setup or make one.
Some times we miss posts cause we are posting at the moment...
Use the jackshaft system and you will forget you have a 1" shaft. Cheap and effective..... and been used 1000's of times with no problems.....

Good on you Jim, that's what this community is all about  I'd offer but, the shipping would be ridiculous...

Did everyone see the air filter adaptor I recently made for Jim-L-Ls minibike? (not showing off, just making the point about helping each other out...)

As far as a price goes, i cant say exact $ , but i can say not no where near the $ they want.... As far as sizes go, that parts not really an issue. Its only a matter of editing the cnc program, ie., just change the x diameters. At the moment, I personally dont have a need for one (yet), but I think it would be fun to make none the less....

did i get allo that straight. I'll have to search for picks of that set up seems logical, it has all the components just in different orders that what i was imagining.

Agent Orange, look at Grainger.com . They have 1" bore sprockets, its an industrial supply, but the sprockets are the same as what karts use. If you cant find it, ill post a link asap....

You know, I'm always short on bucks ( and maybe brains ) but faced with the same situation, I would most likely just startt up the engine and use a bastard file to reduce the shaft size......:idea2:
