Yep that all makes sense, sorry I just didn't see the part of your first comment saying to throw it around the coil and wasn't thinking. Also, if I knew how many turns was on the ignition coil (primary) would that give me the voltage that the coil was running at?

Why not is kinda what I was thinking! I wasn't planning on hooking it straight up at all, so don't worry. Just a couple of coils of any insulated wire should work around where exactly would be the best place?

Yo! I recently acquired an oscilloscope for pretty cheap, and was gonna hook it up to the ignition coil on my clone just to see what it'd be like. The input says it is rated to 400V peak to peak. Obviously an ignition coil will be producing higher than this, is there any way to still view it...

Clone engines have got cheap! That first link you posted is a nice deal. Well that or I'm out of touch with prices.

Ha I'm well aware they're quite illegal on the roads over here, so my licence is safe(ish)! Yeah it's just a project, and with these things so cheap is all my thinking. Parts (sprockets etc) and as readily available around me either, and my fabrication skills aren't as up to scratch as I'd like...

no i cant see anything! i sanded any rust and grease off the shaft but the bearing is sitting on some other little ''step'' on the crank but i got at that with the sand paper.

still no luck! i used liberal amounts of oil and it still wont work! tried some hub pullers as well but no luck..

a bit.. bearing isnt in great shape either. i just wanted to make sure if there was any ''trick'' to it.

I'm trying to remove the crank case cover but everytime i get it out around half an inch, it won't go any further. is there a trick into taking it off or anythin? Thanks

yeah its a flat head. what about a ram air kit? im pretty handy with fabrcation but is there any point really?

is there any way of limiting the revs so as not to blow flywheel or con rod (without my right foot:thumbsup:) also what gains are there in a striaght exhaust and ram air induction kit? can i just screw a 20mm pipe into the exhaust port?

where could i get a cheap one? is it safe to remove the governer on a standard engine or do i need valve springs etc. im in ireland so parts are hard enough to come by and delivery costs an arm and a leg. im happy to rip an engine but im a bit of a noob when it comes to karts..

i have a briggs 5hp that isnt running great so im gonna strip it down and check it up and clean it. just wondering will something like diesel be suitable to dip the block in to clean it up? also what budget mods can i do? i have a welder and steel for exhausts but what after that? nothing...

i was wonderig how hard it would be to put a turbo on a honda clone? i know it wouldnt make that much more power i just have a turbo and a few pipes knockin around and was going to try it. thanks

wall.. just wonderin wat are the advantages of runnin a gx160 carb on a gx200? wouldnt the head be the same on a gcv(vertical shaft) gx160?
