It works even better than when its on a bike.. It shifts instantly. Another think to look at is the quality of bike you actually got the setup from. His was a trek bike. Which I think is a high quality bike.

Nope he got it at ace hardware. Not broken after 2 weeks of heavy duty off road riding.

Just a a little stronger chain he got at the hardware store. Same size but its a lot heavier than the stock chain.

He has a 8 hp motor. He did upgrade the chain to something stronger but the gears are stock. So far it has survived off road driving for about 2 weeks and it still looks new. Ill work on the pcs and vids.

One of my friends took the gears out of a bike. When I say gears I mean the whole setup. The type where you can change the gears. It has 8 gears. And he implemented this into his go kart. So now he can change his gears (ratios) while he is driving it. Great Ideal and it works!!

Don't take the govenor off. Just take a rod or string and tie it around the lever that controls the carbuator. So when you pull the strong of push the rod it will fully open the valve. That is what I did, so It would be like govenor off only when I wanted it to be.

Well what can I do to make it faster? Can I get rid of the belt tensioner and just put a centrifugal clutch on the engine shaft and change the pulleys to sprockets and add chain? I now know I cant beat him now I just want to get it faster. So what can I do?

Is that because he is not going to use a transmission? And it just basicly a direct link from engine to tires?

I have seen first hand, people who "bent the belt". Just requires 2 extra pulleys to do it. And they have no problems. Easy way to go from vertical to horizontal.

In the process of cleaning the carb, it cracked. So i bought a new carb and it works fine. Just the water in the oil now.

There was water in my carbuator when I cleaned it. Not just a few drops but the whole bowl was filled with water. This was because my tarp covering the engine blew off and it got rained on for about 2 weeks before I noticed.

Is there a possiblility water is sitting on the bottom of the engine and can not drain?

I just dont remember it being that hot last year.

Also when the engine runs only for a few seconds the muffler is really hot!! Too hot to touch.

Yes theres white stuff in the oil.

So whats recomended to clean the inside of the engine?
