    honda lighting coil?

Thanks. It is a pull start. Why would I get 1.5V AC at idle from that wire then? The low-oil switch is hooked up like it should be, so that's not what it is. I'll have to trace it to see where it goes.

    honda lighting coil?

Sorry for bringing up this old thread, but it's relevant to my question. I want to add some low-watt (LED) lights to my kart. I have a 6.5 HP Greyhound-brand Honda clone. It has the single yellow wire that's not hooked up to anything. I get 1.5V AC out of it at idle. Is this the wire to which I...

    Safety first!

It's been a while since I've posted in here, mainly because my kart has been working great (knock on wood)....the blue Honda clone has been a great alternative to the stock 5 HP B&S. The 30-series clutch is still eating belts, but not as bad as when I first got the kart. Anyhow, when I got the...

    Post your car!

With the demise of my '95 Deville (due to extreme frame rust), I decided to go large with my next Caddy. I give to you the Undertaker (an ex-funeral home car): It needs some work, but the price was right. I found out a few days after I bought it that the engine is toast. Lots of blow-by...

My Manco Progress: Ditched the Fun Power...

I thought we were even with the Briggs even going up hill? I've got the throttle stop screw the whole way out so I can't get any more out of it.

My Manco Progress: Ditched the Fun Power...

Thanks. It took buying and selling a bunch of stuff to finally come up with a complete, working kart. The upside is that the guy I sold the old kart w/ engine and 40-series converter to is the upholstery guy. He does boats, convertible tops, custom stuff. He cut me a deal on the seats. They're...

My Manco Progress: Ditched the Fun Power...

Put new front tires and roll bar padding on it. I didn't realize that the tires only take 4-7 PSI. I had them pumped up to like 20 PSI. With only 4 PSI in them it's a lot better ride, though bouncy now. The roll bar padding is pipe insulation that I bought at Lowe's for $0.94 for each 6-foot...

My Manco Progress: Ditched the Fun Power...

Had the seats redone and installed seat belts. Believe it or not, the belts help A LOT in keeping you in place while you're trying to drive a kart with no suspension. Got new tires - need to put them on it. It runs great with the clone, too!

I got another one - I can't believe I didn't remember this one earlier.... I have a friend in the salvage biz. I got my Grand National from him. I got a call one day from his son who said he had picked up another Buick. He wasn't sure what it was, but he knew it was special. Turns out it was...

    gtc industries torque converters

I have one on a Manco Phoenix Eagle II kart. I bought the cart with the stock Fun Power engine and a rusty Comet converter. I think it's a 30-series. The rust was shredding the belt. My brother happened to have a new GTC setup new in the box, unused. All of the pieces are visually and...

Want to buy Comet Torque Converter

What are they selling? GTCs? I put a new GTC on my Manco cart and it was identical in appearance and operation as the Comet 30-series it replaced. Jim

My Manco Progress: Ditched the Fun Power...

Hadn't thought of that. It would be easy, you're right. It has a jackshaft arrangement, but the principle is the same. I'll look into that.... Thanks!

Yeah, the bed was rotted around the rear wheel arches which is very common. The corners of the cab and fenders were great, though, which was unusual. It's very solid everywhere else, it's just that the frame extension behind the left rear wheel had rotted through right where I needed to bolt the...

My Manco Progress: Ditched the Fun Power...

The kart is for my kids anyway, and they do run 2 at a time. The seat goes far enough back for me to drive it when I want to. I think I'll just leave it alone.

My Manco Progress: Ditched the Fun Power...

...it wasn't any fun. After spending $147 on all new parts for the Fun Power, and hours fighting with the goofy governor/throttle linkage, I've given up on it. It ran great when it had a full tank of gas, but when it got down to about half it would sputter and stop running. I'm thinking maybe...

    YerfDog - 6.5 honda - Torque Convertered

Make sure there's no rust on the pullies. I have a Manco kart that I bought used. Both the 30-series drive and driven pullies were really rusty. The belt shredded right away. Swapping on a new belt helped a lot, but it was getting eaten up quick. We happened to have one of the new GCI setups...

Not with a kart, but with our ''beater" pickup that we bought a couple of years ago. We bought it to tow stuff around. My Grand National seemed to be broken all the time so I wanted something that could tow a car trailer around. When installing the Class IV hitch, I found that the previous...

Briggs Fun Power - Electrical Connection at Throttle

I'll have to look at the pickup tube that came with the new carb to see if maybe it's shorter than the other one, and to make sure it goes all the way down in the tank.

Briggs Fun Power - Electrical Connection at Throttle

Yeah. It's a brand new carb. As it draws down the fuel, it starts to show signs of leaning out (hesitates, gets to a point where you have to choke it to keep it running). When it gets to half tank, it won't run at all any more (no fuel getting to the combustion chamber). With a completely full...
