Small update today, got the govenor out, new valve springs and an emulsion tube are on the way from AGK. Seat pan is cut, needs to be welded on. I now unfortunately have to make new spindles, and have the tie rod mount facing forwards and up, instead of backwards and down.

I think the pasta would get kinda grody after a few days lol

Hopefully not, I can't wait. I'm going to be buying a boat seat, but i need to weld in a pan to mount it. But as of right now there's about 8 inches of snow on the ground here, so work is slow, especially in my packed garage, and my basement is only 5 foot tall, and i'm 6 1 lol, doesn't work too...

So, sorry about the lateness of this update, I haven't had the money to spend on the kart, gas and bills are first. I wound up getting a $60 off coupon for a 6.5 hp clone from Harbor Freight... So soon to modify, removing govenor, jack shaft to get gearing just right, and possibly a live...

thanks burban, thats what i'm going to end up doing i think, just so that i have a baseline of what it can do

idk, may change that part, i'm looking for something that will go like a bat outta hell on this, and so far the gearing just isn't looking good for that :( i just have to find a good gearing that will move fast and not be at full throttle the whole time

yeah, i've already thought of that, going to track down a nice 4 point harness like a race car has. should hold me in pretty good

Yeah, this kart's going to see mostly on road, some very very light off roading. I'll be putting a small cage on it just in case i roll lol :roflol:

Small update today, the engine's been at the shop for a few days now. I welded in some foot rests and a bolt as a ground for the battery I'm gonna be running. Got a boat seat for it, I saw one on another kart here, and decided it was an awesome idea, will be getting pics up soon, my camera quit...

I'm going to have a local guy take a look at the 10 horse briggs tomorrow and see if he can get it running with no issues. I'm going to be running the 10 on this kart, with a 12 tooth clutch and 45 on the axle. with the tires I want to run, I should be able at max to pull 43 mph (15" tires btw)...

it's a 4 stroke, but the carb on it is so screwed that it just needs replacing. i've already cleaned all the gunk out and its still bad. and what sucks is that its a mikuni carb too

So quick update, today i took everything apart, and started cleaning up the chassis, and i think i may have to brace is some more, and put in something for my feet to rest on for the pedals

Well, I just got a kart for..... :wai:FREE:wai: only thing is, she don't run as of right now Hoping to fix that soon with this monster.... 10 HP Briggs, thats about 10 years old. there's a 6 HP Briggs on there now that isn't runnning/missing carb, might try to fix that first then sell it, or...

really good work kaptian, get that small snafu fixed and she'll be haulin. i'm thinkin about using a 250cc out of a 1980 Yamaha, it don't run right now, but will with new carb.
