    clone mods!!!!!!

I think that the John Deere Gators and Kawasaki Mules have the comet type converters on them. Has anyone tried one of those systems on their karts? Not sure how easy they are to get a hold of.

    Two engines, One kart

I was just wondering.... How do you get two engines to run close enough to the same rpms, to run them together? Does the weaker engine and the stronger just average out? Does the hp double or does it produce a higher hp then the sum of the rated power of each engine added together...

My Ride and the Kids' Ride

I thought I would post a few pictures of our karts. This is the ride my 4 kids enjoy. I am a farmhand and the boss runs John Deere tractors so the kids chose a John Deere paint scheme. This is their John Deere Decal. This is their Kart with installed power plant, a Honda gx160, that I...

Air box versus K & N air filter

As long as it runs for the kids it will be fine. If it was my dirt oval racing kart I would probably do that.

Air box versus K & N air filter

What do you know, Rick was right. I pulled the stock muffler off and ran the engine without it. It runs awesome. I cut the muffler off and welded on a pipe and we are in business. THANKS RICK!!! Sorry about the hijacking of the thread.

Air box versus K & N air filter

Rick, So, do you think the stock exhaust is causing my rich condition? Would a straight pipe cause the intake to pull more air?

    Noob Q's Here!

You need what is called a chain breaker. You can usually get one at a hardware store along with your new connector links. You can also grind or file the ends of the pins on the link to be removed and drive them out with a hammer and punch. These tools can also be bought at the hardware store...

    8HP Briggs BACK FIRING!!!!

Did you put in an offset flywheel key? And if you did, did you put it in backword and retard the timing instead of advancing it?This could cause exhaust backfire.

Air box versus K & N air filter

The element is not new but I took the filter off and I was still not getting enough air. It wasn't getting enough air with the filter off. I took the filter off and forced air into the box (just a little) with the blower on the air compressor and the engine ran very well. I agree that if I put...

Air box versus K & N air filter

It's funny you guys brought this up today. I have been rebuilding a Honda gx160 for my kids' kart. I put a new crank, rings, and gaskets in it. I cleaned the carb and drilled the jet, removed the oil sensor, and the governor. I put it all together, minus the factory Honda airbox and it ran...

Hey Freak, Explain this cam welding to me. Won't the heat take the temper out of the lobes? Do you reharden it? How much higher does the lift need to be? Sorry Solomon, not trying to hijack your thread. Adam

    Scored a Kart

No, not free, but a bargain price. Under 600. Don't burst my bubble if I got took. The big deal is that it is the specific model that I was looking for. I wasn't sure that I would find it. Rolling chassis with Digitron Tach, good Burris rubber, and new seat. Only raced 5 times...

    Scored a Kart

I found a 2004 Legend Race Kart. Well worth the money. I plan on racing on the local dirt track next spring. It will be a blast. I drove a couple of buddies karts a few weeks ago and was immediately addicted. I hope I can keep up. We are running in the clone class as that looks to be the...

    Offset Timing On Tecumseh

Try this: Buy a Briggs and Stratton offset key. Get a micrometer and measure the offset. Get an new key from the hardware store. Get a file or a carbide bit with a sharp angle for a dremel. Make your own key. Use the Briggs key as a reference for degree of offset. Just an idea.

I am interested in buying a Legend Racing Kart

I have a few buddies that race karts in a town nearby. I finally went and watched them and was totally interested when I saw them setting up their chassis. It's like Nascar only cheaper. LOL Afterwards they let me drive a couple of them and Wow that is fun. I think I'm hooked. They run...
