Want to change Live Axle to Differential

I've got a kart differential I could sell, hangs just like a live axle but you'll need a second brake band, actually have 2 available.

    2020 - Chopper/bobber trike

I'm down to 6 in a single car garage as of next weekend. One is my younger brothers, one is my best buddy, one is my wife's, and three are mine. They all want to learn how to ride so I'm making it happen, my black steel stallion is of course the king Kong of the bunch, 0-100 faster than I can...

    How do I fix this?

Well, that all depends on circumstances, if your kids are quite young, I'd consider the dead axle for its lack of grip, get too crazy with a live axle and it'll drift or do wheelies fairly easily. If they are old enough to learn throttle control and how to keep the kart in control, a live axle...

    How do I fix this?

Without coming off as rude, they wanted a live axle instead of a dead axle, a 2x4 instead of 1x4 in Lehman's, but they had no clue apparently how to go about it. You could in theory get by with a new live axle with pillow blocks bolted in place of those clamps, and you could still run the live...

    How do I fix this?

Not the whole back end, just the shotty mods. I'll get a picture of my entire factory rear frame.

    How do I fix this?

Not factory wheels but otherwise looks fine.

    How do I fix this?

Going back to dead axle would be cheapest and easiest, live axle is arguably more fun depending on the application. Returning to dead axle also means almost everything is available at the local hardware store, 1" square tube I believe 42" long, two half inch shouldered bolts long enough to pass...

    How do I fix this?

You may be better off getting a live axle kit with everything, you are correct that the wheels are welded on making that axle nearly useless. The kit will have the proper hangers and bearings to do the job the right way, it's a fun kart so personal opinion of being worth it or not is up to you...

    How do I fix this?

That looks like a bolt head on the outside of the wheel to me

    How do I fix this?

No, pillow blocks can be bolted on, you dont need a welder.

    How do I fix this?

Yep, that's a clamp and you need pillow block bearings and spacers.

    How do I fix this?

Forget all about welds and tightening the clamps. You need pillow blocks and spacers before it will ever work properly, unless you go back to a dead axle, then its start from scratch.

    How do I fix this?

Long story short, someone wanted this rear end and went about it wrong.
