    Gearing on dual motor setup

I am near completion with my dual motor off-road buggy and had someone ask me a question I'm not familiar with. They asked if I was going to run the same gearing on both motors or one for high and one for low. Would that be possible and would I in theory need two different pedals or one pedal...

    Dual engine cradle

So I decided to go with two 212's on my build since that's what I have on hand and can't justify the cost of a 420 or 670. All materials I have on hand or had made at work. The motor mounts are base off the Azusa swing mount but made to my specifications. The sprocket that is on there now will...

    Custom front spindles

Got my custom built spindle parts in the mail yesterday for my daughter's off road kart build. All made from 1/4" steel. They will be beefy and be able to take a beating!! Can't wait to get them welded up! After that I will make the new a-arms for it. These are designed to use heim joints along...

Side project for my little kart

Just something I've been messing around with on the side in between waiting on parts for my big buggy build. Will be one on each side and both have adjustable plates. This is an added benefit of my job, can design my parts and have them cut out fairly quick! There will be a link going to each...

    Big Ol' Buggy!

Pretty much scrapped what I was doing with the Manco Buggy and decided to build a proper one! This is being built from the ground up. Literally since I built the table as well!!! All the seat mounts were designed by me at work. Benefit of working at a CNC plasma/Oxy-FUEL shop!!! The tubing laid...

    Gear/Sprocket Ratio....

Is the preferred gear ratio for an off-road kart 6:1? Or is a 5:1 acceptable? The last thing I need to get other than brakes are sprockets. I want to do an axle setup kind of like Grind Hard Plumbing did on their Barbie jeep to help protect the axle and the chain. So I want a relatively smaller...

    Two piece rim question...

I'm most likely going with a 5" rim on the Rowdy Audi and on the hunt for rims. My question is if I find some affordable two piece rims and want to use a 11x6.5-5 tire. Can I use a spacer in the middle of the rim to adjust for the tire width? I have access to CNC equipment and a lathe to be...

    Rowdy Audi

So with being done with the Carter Brothers kart and actually canceling the Manco Buggy, I am about to start my own power wheels cars conversion. Got a free gc190 from a few end that is coming off a pressure washer. Will need some cleaning up but happy it wasn't a gc160. I'm waiting to pick up...

    Kart Crawler

Saw this in a Facebook group and would like a bigger size one for an adult. It's just a little crawler kart that would be fun to toy around in. Very interesting rear end set up!:auto:

Overhaul on the Carter Brothers 2435 continues

After riding the kart for a little bit I decided to tear it back down and throw some color on it. Let my daughter pick the color, Sunburst Yellow. Need to touch up the wheels and I have some perforated sheet metal that I'm going to make a guard at the front that wraps underneath.

What is this thing....trying to help a friend

What in the world is this thing? I've never seen a kart like this with so manu mechanical moving parts! The body that comes with it is awesome and wish I had it for my kart •MERGED• Here are a couple more, it pretty small. Anyone know how old it is?

    Carter Brothers 2435

Picked this little diddy up last week for $20 or it was going to be junked. It's going to be the neighborhood ride. Not going to be chopping this one up, just want a little thing to zip around to the park and back with the kiddo. Had to order a new axle and the drive hub was destroyed so...

    2 carts for $45!!!

Well it will need some parts, but I can get one up and running rather quick. I have a full motor with torque converter and front tires for the one that's almost a roller. The other will have to sit for a while. Don't worry I won't chop these up, they will be for just cruising around on. I will...

    Manco buggy

Lots of mock up and planning happening before I get to setting up this Dingo. Went from 4" of ground clearance to about 13", got rid of the roll cage except the main hoop and will be fabricating a new one. I'll have to fabricate the ATV suspension front end. Setting up the rear for dual shocks...

    Predator 212 for a 2-seater

So the kart I'm getting from my buddies has a **** near brand new Predator 212 that he's letting go with it. Is it a good motor for a two seater cart? I know I can add some performance to it but just to start with want to make sure it can push the kart.

    Mini buggy concept

Well I will be in my new house this weekend and once I'm settled in it will be time to start building. Decided not to use a Dingo kart and going to build my own frame. This is just a concept, no final decisions yet. All done in AutoCAD. Thinking of having a dual purpose suspension setup as...

    Manco Dingo 285 on steroids

As soon as I am moved and settled into my new house I will be starting on a Manco Dingo kart that a friend is giving me. The plan is to take my spare motor from my 1980 xs850 and completely rework the back end to make it fit. Have a few things planned for the rear end to propel this thing down...
