    How does engine horsepower / sprocket size relationship factor in? One of the best ways to understand is to get on a 10 speed bike and try taking off on each gear. I know in the rc world small driving large seems to be less stressful on electric motors. Applies to all motors, even human ones.

    Not the best idea, but pull the plug and stuff the hole with pull rope type rope until you can loosen the bolt.

    Wrap an old v-belt around the outer bell of front drive pulley and clamp with vice grips for a handle. Now you can remove crankshaft bolt.

    Have not had a clutch lever for over 20 years and it pulls smooth, even with the sidecar, in high range with no problems. It is a little quicker in low. The Calli with the 1100 engine and only 70,000 miles is faster. Fifth is only good above 80 but fourth will pull to 100mph.

    You might look at the rear drive from a shaft driven 4 wheel atv.

    Atv steering column on go kart help

    The steering shaft angle is the only difference, as the both have have tie rods running from shaft to spindles. Look at the lower ends while watching how the tie rods move. This should tell you what you need.
