    Kubota L245 for free!

Hey guys, long time no see. My cousin recently got a L245 for free! and we have decided to give it a light rebuild and whatnot to get this baby running (or at least learn a lot from it). First problem is that the radiator fins and hoses were stuffed and that let in a lot of muddy water (it's...

I see the bush fire alert is still in place or your area so hopefully it is moving away from your place. Sounds about right with the politics here :mad2:

Thank you so much for that, fowler. I suppose I'll be applying for most things I see just to broaden my options. I hope you're safe from the bushfires over there.

Best place for diesel fitting apprenticehip (Australia)

I aiming for diesel fitting but not necessarily the mining side (just earthmoving in general). Would it be easy to get additional training with earthmoving/hydraulic equipment being a trade qual' heavy mech (or would another apprenticeship be needed)? In other words can I have my cake and eat it...

Best place for diesel fitting apprenticehip (Australia)

There are a few Heavy Vehicle Apprenticeships opening around me and I'm just wondering if they are a good pathway (are all diesel fitters heavy vehicle mechanics, but heavy vehicle mechanics are not diesel fitters). Of course heavy mechs get more truck/trailer experience but do they provide...

Best place for diesel fitting apprenticehip (Australia)

This is a longshot, but I'm wondering if anyone has completed an apprenticeship/works at Caterpillar/Cummins/Komatsu as a diesel fitter? I'm thinking of applying to all three, but I would like to know if they are taught a lot, or just about reading a computer and exchanging parts (this seems to...

Engine shakes, and my new plan!

My bad on that last post, I was meant to say rust. After cleaning the rust I set the air gap between the coil and flywheel as well.

Engine from a motorcycle - which type?

I've joined a few groups keeping my eyes out for a good deal. Only places I've been to around here is the wreckers and they charge a **** of a lot. Thanks for that!

Engine shakes, and my new plan!

They were aligned well. I gave the coil and flywheel magnet a light sand to get rid of some surface dustrust. Reset the valve lashing and it's much better now. Was that just due to the magnets not getting good contact?

Engine shakes, and my new plan!

I give it a clean tomorrow. I don't have a timing light so that's off the list for now, though as soloman said before I'll check the key again an maybe do a spark plug chop.

Engine shakes, and my new plan!

Playing with the choke does help a little, but it shakes more on the bottom end/lower idle. Even when I bolt it down on a metal bench it shakes the whole thing when I give it some gas.
