Its always something simple that messes your whole project up. Go figure. Question tho, I just realized I don't have a brass bearing on the torque convertor that the belt rides on. Could this be why my kart is taking off on me?

UPDATE! So after pulling the wire off the kill factory kill switch the engine sparked to life! I replaced the kill switch and the engine starts on the first pull and runs like a champ. I bolted it back on the kart, hooked up the linkage and belt, pulled the cord and the cart took off. :oops: But...

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I put a new plug in the day I bought it. The wire that runs to the top of the spark plug is in ok shape. I tried the screwdriver thing and still no spark. The engine has a switch on the pull start cover and it appears to be ok. I will mess with it more...

Haha yeah. Is there anything you can do when there is no spark anyways? I took the pull start apart, cleaned the fly wheel magnet, checked all the wires, etc... I can always cancel the order if its something manageable :surrender:

:idea2:So I placed my finger over this hole and pushed the primer button and poof now I have fuel coming up into the carb. I can even hear the fuel being pressurized into the carb. So now the question becomes, do I have a faulty primer bulb, or am I missing something that is supposed to cover...

I just realized that when im pushing the primer bulb its not drawing gas from the bowl. If I push the button down it is not sparying fuel into the carb via the red nozzle inside. Solutions?

Update: So I put the screws into the carb where the air cleaner would be. I tightened that flat head screw all the way down then turned it back a bit as suggested. I turned the torx star screw for the throttle position so its midway, hit it with a shot of ether and still no go. She will not turn...

I will give that a try sometime after work today. Oddly enough my kart didn't come with the air filter assembly so unfortunately no screws. Any idea what size they might be? I may have some lying around. Also the linkage that runs from the carb to the engine block is very loose, maybe another...

Which one is the idle screw? the small one in the side with the little holes? That was tightened all the way down when I took it out

Ok so I tried your trick and yes the pin seats. I even took out the little screw/ pin in the side that has the tiny holes and cleaned that out too. I checked over everything and still its not starting. :mad2:

So I am going to give the carb and engine another try. Not ready to give up on it yet since it did technically start on saturday.., it just died right away. I did realize that the bowl was put back on wrong which was why my carb was being flooded with gas. Im thinking maybe the pin is not seated...

So I took the carb apart again today and turned the bowl to the proper position. It used to fire up and stall out. Now its not even turning over. I am going to take everything apart again tomorrow and see where I went wrong. Something with this float I think is the culprit :toetap05:

So when I took the carb apart the little needle that attaches to the float wasn't even there, just gone. So when I bought the rebuild kit it came with a new little needle valve. The carb was gummed up prior to me rebuilding it. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Its tough to describe some of these...
