    420 predator governor linkage question

Can I bypass the governor linkage, (by just removing the spring from the throttle arm and connecting a solid linkage) and limit my rpm to 4500 with the high speed stop? I am not wanting to split the case yet to pull the governor, and don't want to buy a billet flywheel yet either. I am just...

    Series 40 driver question

I have been looking for performance parts to change the spring characteristics of my driver, and found the red and yellow springs for the series 40 driver from mfgsupply.com. What are the differences, (red says 28# and yellow says 14#) in the engagement rate of the drive clutch? I need a spring...

    Series 40 driver question

I was wondering if anyone makes a stiffer spring for the driver to make it engage at a higher rpm?

    Predator 420cc jet question

I need to up the jet size on pilot and main jets, and I don't know where to get them or what size. I have a good cone filter with a pre filter sock (very high flow) and I just ordered a straight pipe and high flow race muffler from NR Racing. Does anyone know what the stock jets are, and maybe...

74 Montgomery Wards mini bike winning!

Thanks for all the support in the other thread guys. My son loves his mini bike. I have had to pry his little butt off of it for 2 days straight. Just a reminder what it looked like: And now after it is finished: :cheers2:

    Predator 420cc "debate"

I have gathered very conflicting answers. Some through thread searching, some by me asking questions, and some by my friend google. I bought it as a 13 hp engine. I have been told it is a replacement for a 13 hp engine, but actually makes 14. Another source put the 420cc engine at 14 hp at 2500...

    KillKart rebuild

Broken axle, so I decided to start a thread about the rebuild. I ordered all of the new parts, they should all be here within the next week. I ordered a 1" billet axle, new wheel hubs, rear wheels, sprocket hub, brake disk/hub, comet mechanical caliper, caliper bracket. I had to order all of...

Broke axle need help finding one

Broke the axle today on the KillKart. I can't catch a break. Now I need to find a new axle, or build a new one. I need to see some pics of a custom live axle if y'all can help me.

    KillKart jackshaft version 3.1

Probably should call it 3.1 beta until I clean it up and paint it after a few more days of thrashin on it. To be as mean as possible to it, I got out on some concrete by my house, aired down the rear tires a little and stood on it from a dead stop. Impressed so far, no belt slip and no more...

    Too much torque

Plus too much bite on the tires = Busted 3/4 inch jackshaft. Time to make a 3rd bearing support. groan.

    Clone performance parts

I did a google search with not much luck. Maybe I typed something wrong or asked the wrong question. I went for a ride today since my buddy just picked up a twister hammerhead 150 to add to the stable, and my engine was acting up horribly. I checked the usual, and found the air filter clogged...

    Chain questions

I have purchaced several different chains since I have tried several setups so far. I finally have a jackshaft combo that works, but the current chain is crap. Less than 5 hours on it, and it is gallded so bad it will hardly work. It kinks and throws the chain on hard turns. Where can I get a...

    Predator 420cc engine dies

Ok, after working out the bugs with my jackshaft and engine mounts, I finally got to stomp the throttle wide open. I am very impressed with how this thing performs, but when I am in a turn and hit a hard bump, the engine dies and I have to turn the key off, back on and then it will start. Does...

    My jackshaft setup version 2.0

This didn't work. Not because of the red spring in the driven pulley, but because I didn't think it through. The bracket flexes under a good load, and it shucks the chain. This is what I came up with from bmikarts.com. I just hope I have enough room for the mount without modifying the upper...

    Torque converter drive belt

Stamped on the belt is "THIS SIDE TO ENGINE". I understand why you have to do this on an asymmetrical setup where one side has a steeper degree angle that the other, but why on a symmetrical setup where the angles are the same? Just a curiosity question.

What kart am I working on?

This is the thing that's been taking my money. I looked for something similar but have come up with zip. It is a full suspension kart with a sheng chen Chinese 6.5 hp engine on it stock. I think I got a good deal, bought it for a hundred bucks, and put another 750$ or so in engine/clutch...

    My clutch setup pic

All I have left to do is finish welding the bracketry and paint the assembly, install the yellow spring (thanks again Raposak  ) and install the engine on the kart. I will take a video and post it when I am done. Thanks everyone for all the help.

Belt install with a custom built jackshaft.

Series 40 drover and driven, I built the jackshaft mount plates out of stuff I had laying around. I am down to waiting on a yellow spring for the driven and cutting the hole for the crankshaft to stick through. How tight should the belt be when I fab the clutch mount? Should it be touching...

    Torque converter and jackshaft

Ok. I bought a series 40 driver (1 inch bore) and a series 40 driven clutch setup. The jackshaft I got is a 3/4 inch shaft. My question is this: Does the small side (with the spring) go toward the engine, or outboard of the engine? I have built my jackshaft support plates and I am afraid that I...
