If there is a better more correct place to have the fuel tank please let me know.
The engine comes without a tank but I think the tank you have should bolt to the engine. Not sure if thats necessary but Im wondering if it is. Could the tank being so high, cause enough pressure in the bowl to overflow?

Is this the carb that leaks during accel?

I would check the bowls fuel level before anything else.

So the carb in the pic was leaking the same as the one that was on it when I got it. New carb same problem. Speaking to my Sister who gave me the kart the tank had always been there for them and they never noticed a leak. I take that with a grain or salt because her kids who were operating it may never have noticed because they are young and the leak is only present when driving.

One of my karts has an aluminum fuel tank mounted up above the engine ( similar to the one pictured). No issues with too much pressure.
