Problem with after market driven pulley on trail master

Im sure the answer is somewhere in this thread. If you haven’t done a deep cleaning of the carb. Do that. Poke out every hole in every part of the carb. Pluck a thin wire out of a wire brush or use thick fishing line or something. I posted that video of how to clean a carb because a dirty...

Problem with after market driven pulley on trail master

When getting familiar with these engines, it is a good idea to just change up one thing at a time. When you do a few things at once, it becomes harder to know what might have caused problems if problems come up. And you can go in reverse to see if you find something is wrong. Putting the old...

My engine worked… I did steps “A” through “X” Now my engine doesn’t work. How do I fix it?” Undo what you did.

Problem with after market driven pulley on trail master

I didn’t watch this video but skipped through it to make sure he was thorough enough to take out pilot jet and poke E-tube and jet holes. By the time this engines runs properly you will have extracted every bit of small engine knowledge I have. I’m beginning to think you are just an AI...

Also might need to fatten up the pilot jet, unless a new one came with the kit. IIRC, the stock pilot jet is around 0.016” and likes around 0.019” with filter and exhaust upgrade. I don’t remember off the top of my head and don’t like those carbs in my builds.

Problem with after market driven pulley on trail master

i did a bit of assuming that the flywheel was from ARC. I think their magnets are pretty strong. I was thinking that too close of air gap with a ARC magnet would have worsened the coil. It still might be coil related, but I think his flywheel is correctly gapped at 0.030” or so. And since...

Problem with after market driven pulley on trail master

To check for air leak around a carb spray some starting fluid around carb gaskets. If the fluid gets sucked in, the engine rpm should change. Can also work with WD-40 or something else. Just listen for rpm change. Might increase or decrease. Don’t spray down the air horn, only around the...

    Clutch not engaging

Far and away better than centrifugal clutches for yard karting IMO it’s like comparing a car with auto transmission to a car that either has only 1st gear or only 4th gear. With Centrifugal clutches you only get the one gear. If you set it up to move fast… you’ll never get off the line. Like...

Make sure mounting the kit won’t cause issues. Often you’ll need to raise the engine an inch or inch and a half to fit the TC driven unit mounting plate.

I think it might be a good option but I’ve never tried that set up. I use 30 series with 3/4” driver units on 212cc so I ASSUME it a 30 series with 1” driver unit with work on a 240cc. With #35, maybe go with 12T and 72T on the rear (depending on tire size). Is it 1” you need? Or do UK...

I’d check places like Amazon or eBay even AliExpress but I don’t know what’s available ‘cross the pond. Might try a “Farm” store… here we have some big chain stores… farm and fleet, rural king, tractor supply,…. Sometimes they have “gokart” parts.

Finding an outlet and a short extension to go outside and be in a sunny spot that is not right in front of two neighbors patio doors is tough. Maybe my eyes just aren’t good for welding? I’ve been pretty sensitive to bright lights in many situations besides welding.

    Clutch not engaging

Question for the Gang: Do they still make those 30 series TAV kits with 1” driver units? People used to try them on 420cc and fail, but with a 240cc they might work? Anybody try one of these on 240cc...
