Single Seater Kart => Utility Kart

So what does that tansaxle give you? I looked in to those at one point, some of the cooler ones were open diff, with multiple forward speeds plus reverse. But it looked like it could only be shifted when stopped. Plus the gear ratios were a little confusing and I wasn't able to really figure...

    Best Switch Style?

My concern with the accidental switching was with the flush mount switches. They don't seem as stiff as the "bat handle" switches. And they are going to be harder to install. But they'd look cooler.

    Best Switch Style?

One of these days, I'm going to put some fresh LED lights on my kart. I'm going to do a nice white spotlight as a headlight, a nice red tail light, and then maybe another spotlight on the back pointing backwards. So three lights on three switches. I'm wondering what are some good switches to...

Single Seater Kart => Utility Kart

Has anyone here, as they got older, (I'm 43 now) kept the go kart they had when they are younger, and turned it in to more of a utility kart. Something they can use around the house? I have a Manco Dingo I bought when I was 22. I wanted once since I was a kid and I had a lot of fun with it...

    Personal Belongings

Ok sorry to derail your automotive discussion with my off-topic go kart storage reply :p but . . . I think I found my solution! A small frame mounted pack for a bicycle! They come in many shapes and sizes including trianglar ones. I should be able to strap it to the rollcage and crossmember...

    Personal Belongings

I don't know the answer to any of those questions, I need a glove box to store my extra sweet-and-sour sauces :D

    Personal Belongings

I've been thinking about this and upon further reflection, what I really need is something like a cloth bag, like a small harbor freight cloth work pouch, but with more internal compartments and dividers, AND some heavy duty metal eyelets so I can attach it to the steering column somewhere and...

    Personal Belongings

As mentioned in a previous post, I'm thinking about taking my kart on a long-ish trip. Usually I just screw around on the thing for a few minutes at a time and thats about it. But I'm thinking of taking it on a several hours long journey. My kart is a Manco Dingo, aka Pocket-Emptier-3000. It is...

What kind of range does my Kart have?

I can't imagine sitting in this thing being bounced around for more than 2 hours. And even a round-about route would be under 15 miles I think. So a full tank should be plenty. And if I can carry a 1 gallon can as backup, I should be totally set, more than enough fuel.

What kind of range does my Kart have?

Do you know roughly how much of a tank full you used in those 15 miles?

What kind of range does my Kart have?

According to google, new versions of the motor hold 0.85 gallons, about 110 fl oz. So figure mine holds about that, about three quarters of a gallon.

What kind of range does my Kart have?

This is kind of an odd question. But I've had this go kart for 20 years. I used to cut trails very close to my grandmothers house and drive it around them. Then in more recent times, I occasionally drive it around my own neighorhood on the street in the snow. That's about it, not much use. I've...

    Belt Drive?

I use expensive chain lube on my MTB, but I asked my neighbor what he uses on his motorcycles he used to have because that would probably be a better choice for the chain on my go kart. Well he said his bikes were actually belt drive and I was like ZOMG thats perfect! I already have a belt...

    Fuel Gauge?

Ok that looks great, what is that and how does it work and how do you install them?

    Fuel Gauge?

Clarification: Gas TANK, not gan can. I wish I could edit my original post. Regarding material, I believe my kart's tank is steel and I think my blower and mower are both plastic but I'm not 100% sure. ^ something like that would be perfect if they came with some kind of fitting to be used in...

    Fuel Gauge?

Does anyone make a fuel gauge you can put in a regular simple gas can? Maybe something where I have to drill a hole but thats ok? Not anything remote, just the ability to look at the top of the tank and know how much gas was in there would be super useful! Especially with the fuel filter that...

Torque Converter with Wider "gear" Range?

I've been looking around at various gearbox options trying to find something that would suit my needs. Plenty of Reverse gearboxes out there, but I was looking for something that had a normal forward, and a low range forward, plus reverse. OR something that was just a semiauto manual with 3 or 4...

    Are Open-Diff Chain-Drive Axles a Thing?

Realistically, I probably wouldn't need manual side to side control. That said, it would be nice if there was a super easy way to switch the bias. Like a lever you could flip that would disable one side or the other when you hit the regular brake pedal. Or a simple hydraulic brake lever going to...

    Are Open-Diff Chain-Drive Axles a Thing?

I've been thinking about this lately. Forget all those gearboxes/transaxles etc for now, lets just talk about that Pearless 100 open diff. How well would it work throwing a single brake rotor on the body of the diff? Seems like that would work very well on a street cart but what about on snow...
