Update!! Runs great. Doing spindles this week. Only problem left is the engine kill switch. It's a single wire and I grounded it like it was on the other engine but it doesn't work. I even grounded it with the engine kill switch ground and nothing. What am I doing wrong?

So what I've figured out. I have access to a machine shop and what I did was make a bushing ( like cutting the end off the old shaft. Ill pick up a longer bolt today. I loosened the pivot for the throttle and it returns great now. I rotated the pull 180° . Hope to have it running tomorrow...

The way it is now I will need a longer bolt , I'm just worried that it'll mess up the end of the shaft with only 3/8" of contact as opposed to 3/4" contact on old engine

I picked up a yerf dog that had a seized 6.5 hp Tecumseh engine. I bought the harbor freight 6.5 predator engine. I have a couple of issues. The throttle doesn't really have a return spring on it but that is not a big deal. I can buy a spring, and attach it wherever I think. The big question is...

Ok, so if I leave all wires off except for the coil wire it will fire? If it doesn't it then it's a bad coil.

My son just bought a Carter kart , it has no spark. We pulled the coil, cleaned it adjusted it. It has 2 kill switches which seem to work, I have continuity on both of them. I even pulled a coil off another 6.0 hp Tecumseh that's froze and nothing. What am I missing? I've been a car guy for 35...
