6.5 Tecumseh no spark

My son just bought a Carter kart , it has no spark. We pulled the coil, cleaned it adjusted it. It has 2 kill switches which seem to work, I have continuity on both of them. I even pulled a coil off another 6.0 hp Tecumseh that's froze and nothing. What am I missing? I've been a car guy for 35 years, never played with small engines tho. Any help is appreciated!!

Don't ground the coil. It should be open for run and closed to kill.

Ok, so if I leave all wires off except for the coil wire it will fire? If it doesn't it then it's a bad coil.

Two wires on the coil. One to spark plug. The other when grounded will kill the engine. It should be an open curcuit to run. If you have a constant contact switch it will be backwards. Off is on and on is really off.
