three coats of this completed. Ordered a smaller needle jet. Should be here in a few days.

Working on little things, no pics today. Also playing with carb tuning.

Adjusted the driven torque spring to max tension. Also sanded the sheave ramp smooth to aid in shifting smoothness and button longevity.

Finished and installed the back panel/firewall today

Yeah and the cap isn't vented. Ended up using one off a clone that I modified to fit then drilling a hole in it to vent.

The aluminum is thin. I was concerned that it wouldn't hold up, but its been fine so far. Better option would be to buy a USA made tank. Also the spun aluminum was soo rough i was worried someone would get a sliver by rubbing it. So I sanded down the surface some.

Lots of intake and engine noise right behind the head. So making a stainless Firewall, going to add some foam padding to the front side.

Took the kart out for a test ride today. Not 100% yet but now can start tweaking things. Pics to come soon

Small but hope its sufficient. I had this build in a 200lb heavier utility sxs and it performed well. Only difference is ive added the 1.3 rockers. So less weight and more power, I hope I'm good. If not I have a vangaurd 570cc I can swap into it.

Battery box done. Exhaust is almost done. Had to make a new exhaust flange. Need to buy an exhaust hanger and springs & hooks for a slip joint in the middle. Carb and tank are just sitting there.

And had to make a stud to mount the valve cover. The mounting boss is off center so I had to grind the thread off 1 side of the stud to clear the rocker trunion. This is a before pic. Sorry didnt get an after.

More battery box progress.

Started building the battery box,

Assembled the driveline yesterday and built the last 2 needed chain tensioners.

Wanted some extra clearance for the chain on the rear diff. Final assembly of the front end is complete. Also lubed the grease fittings. Added another hiem joint on the steering and now its rock solid. And yes there are a couple nasty impurities in the back weld that came up. They need to...

Added a bottom plate to these Steering brackets for more strength.

Down to the less exciting part of the build, final details and assembly. Then finding what I need to rework. Will try to post up pics and details next time I'm out in the garage
