Where to buy? Solenoid, Pot box

I have put some thought into battery covers, but didn't want to put anything together until I settled on my final batteries. Side pods have got lower on my to do list. I'm about half done with solar collectors to heat water for my home. That project has been taking most of my spare time...

Do you really mean 30 KW ? That's equivalent to 40 hp! If you used a 48 Volt supply that would be 625 amps. What battery voltage do you plan to use? Mike

    Homemade gokart

I'm concerned about the steering, First I don't think you want the wheels to turn as far as they do, if they got turned that far they would probably not come back to center by themselves. Normally the steering wheel will come back to center position by itself. Here's a link from this site...

    Tire Pressure recommendations

Well yes the tires are 45 yrs old, that's pretty old !!! Ya, it would seem like I'd be slipping the tire on the rim with the torque, but it has been both front tires that went flat. Mike

    Tire Pressure recommendations

Hi all, I have an old Fox gokart (1963) with slicks. The tubes are 4.00x3.50-4. What is the recommended air pressure for these tires? I've had two flat tires in 3 months, tore the stem flange loose from the tube. Thought maybe not enough pressure, but it could be the 45 year old tubes just...

He has a hydraulic/welding machine shop and this was removed from a piece of equipment, and just sat around for years. There really are not a lot of common uses for a 28V dc motor. Mike

    Electric GoKart Video

I got the motor free, it was junk to a friend and a thing of beauty to me. I found the controller on Craigslist for $110. I'll check the battery shop, but I need four batteries. I don't expect to find four reclamed all at once. Thanks, Mike

    1960's "Fox Karts" Go kart

Yes it has a lot of torque, I spun all the teeth off of my first motor sprocket!! I bought a better quality the second time. The controller I have takes 1-1/2 seconds to rampup to full power, If it went to full power immediately, look out! Ya, I have never had any concern about flipping, very...

Fox Karts go kart Your all going to hate me!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MKjbXltAew The best I can say is I saved all the parts, I didn't weld or drill any holes in the frame. I've had two flat tires in 4 months, both from detachment of the stem from the tube, such a disappointment...

Where to buy? Solenoid, Pot box

Yes. the solenoid is a safety device. So I bought one made for a golf cart. I paid $55 at a local golf cart shop, that was the best price I could find after you consider shipping. I already got the gokart running we had a great time for four days, then I popped the motor speed controller. It...
