    Linkage Parts

Any kart shop, or just about anywhere for your first question. Fun karts by nature use sort of rudimentary off-the-hardware-store-shelf items. I have a set of Briggs Raptor throttle kits (may or may not be rudimentary) that have a lot of useful parts in them, bought off fleabay. We have a parts...

Thanks, am catching up on this thread. Missed it first time around, but tik tok? :lolgoku:

JMCH Kick Start Kit for Mini Bike

I was thinking of the durability of the rope and recoil starter. These don't often break in my experience, not with the nylon/polyester rope we have these days but it could break. I bet they broke all the time back in the olden days when they were made of cotton or natural fibers. ... Then I...

    Tire Options

I've heard and seen that happening before but don't know how to mitigate it. Maybe keep on top of your tire pressures every time you ride. Maybe look into tires designed for concession karts, the pay-to-ride amusement karts. Those karts basically put in 8+ hour days. For example...

Retired Grampa Building For Grandkid Fun

:welcome2::wai::welcome2::wai: Sounds like it was a dealer promo kart (with a fiberglass body big enough for logos and advertising). Those were typically built with light duty parts because they were not designed for hard use like normal fun karts.

Help with clutch after crankshaft replacement on predator 212

Drum and other parts: I need a better exploded parts diagram. Edited to add: Thanks, Jim. Feel free to use it, I just massaged it a little and turned it into an image

I thought I was done.... Yerf Dog

Well, you were done but you broke it. 😄 You should have put it up for sale immediately and made big bucks! Let whatever issues it has become someone else's problem [no refunds!]. Then drag home another derelict kart and refurbish it. :lolgoku:

Help with clutch after crankshaft replacement on predator 212

The crankshaft in photo #1 looks suspect, as if the previous owner put a file on it while it was spinning and made it smaller. No telling what you may end up with if you don't buy new parts. A cheap way of checking outside diameter is to put a 3/4" wrench on it, otherwise I have and use a dial...

I thought I was done.... Yerf Dog

Doubtful. For that kind of heat you’d have to ride the brake for 100 miles straight. Then you’d see tell-tale heat discoloration on the components. You need to ensure the brake rod is pulling the band in a straight line from the pedal’s axis of operation, or it will walk itself off the drum...

I thought I was done.... Yerf Dog

I agree with Denny. Also it is customary that the band mounting pegs are welded on and not bolted on, at least in my meagre experience. Just an observation, but I wouldn’t want the peg to unscrew itself and start to wobble. Things have a tendency to rattle loose on these karts, they shake...

Help with clutch after crankshaft replacement on predator 212

Are your crankshafts rusty? Rust enlarges the outside diameter FYI, and the inside diameter of the bore of a clutch. Ensure that your clutches are 3/4”. Got photos?

Briggs & Stratton Single Cylinder OHV Air-Cooled Engine Service Manual 276781

Otherwise known as Briggs & Stratton Coffeemaker 270962 User Guide. 🙄 I think this manual deals primarily with the Intek series but it might apply to their China engines. Link only (for now), although you can download it there (archive.org). I have not downloaded anything from there before...

    Trailmaster go kart

Pretty sure that is a GY6 engine; very common and has origins as a scooter engine. There's differences as to which type of GY6 is applicable, I believe there are different size blocks or cases, long case/short case or something. Does it look anything like this...

    Bocart gx 420

I think you do deserve a "turnkey" electric starter, battery as well as some lighting. I think the alternator and/or charging coil is usually behind the flywheel and the new flywheel has a magnet(s) on the inside to generate charging. I bet the Honda parts for that are probably pretty pricey...

Whole new engine? Or a flywheel and starter? What is the manufacturer of the 420 engine?
