Opinions on my awd utv build.

I was thinking about the u-joints too. They are rated for a speed at an angle. What is the speed rating at say 45*?

Tomberline crossfire 150R - batter wiring

Most likely it is the ground, but like Poboy said… What does the battery power? Where does the red wire go?

Opinions on my awd utv build.

After second thought, if it is geared down before the gearbox, then they would probably be ok, The U-joints on the other hand, may or may not work. If they were forged they'd probably handle it.

1800 rpm max input speed max on the gearbox, and 1000 rpm max on the u-joints… I think you'd better rethink your parts.

    crashed my kart last night

I agree with Machinist. I'm pushing 40 now. It's been a week since this happened and I still have one spot right in the middle of my back that still hurts. I'm going to see a chiropractor first, then a doctor if that does't help. Scars only have cooler stories if you make them up. I can point...

    crashed my kart last night

so the story goes I hit this other guy and went corkscrewing through the air. I remember being airborne, and wondering where the kart was going to land… that must have been when I scored some tire rash on the inside of my arm. I don't have pics but I cracked my left knee open a bit, and...

    Questions about the govenor

Removing the governor won't net you any more hp,, it just lets the engine spin a little faster which gets you a little more top speed.

    crashed my kart last night

Talked with a friend of mine who was leading the pack that night. He's been in contact with the local kart supplier and says he has a rear axle. Another friend with a kart happened to buy a junker Grasshopper for parts, and is going to sell me the front axle. I did get my front tires changed...

How Important is Eliminating Steering Slop?

I would think that a couple degrees is ok. Something like a quarter inch or more I'd bee looking for the slop.

Using a 4hp vertical what best ratio with pullies

Is this from a garden tractor? You may not need to change the ratios. But right now if the engine pulley is bigger than the axle pulley then you are overdriving it and could try swapping them around.

    crashed my kart last night

Good news, my new tires showed up today. I should order the cam and head I've been eyeballing the last few weeks. (and an axle, and wheel bearings, and…)

A couple shots of the rear, it's hard to see the bend in the axle but it is there.

    crashed my kart last night

I'm not scared off of karts. About 20 years ago I flipped one and broke my right pinky, had to have surgery and pins put in. The kart is done for they year because of too many other projects that come first. The garden tractor needs an engine rebuild, the Fiero needs a new clutch, I've got...

    crashed my kart last night

And I am sore from head to toe today. Last night I stopped by a friends house, who live about three blocks away. He has 3 BKS Grasshoppers, and when I showed up he had 2 more on the workbench. We talked about the new karts for a bit, then decided to do some hot laps around the neighborhood. As...

    Motor List

You won't gain any more hp just by removing the governor. Changing out the intake and exhaust will get you more power.

    Dryer motor

In the states, gas dryers are 110v, electric dryers are 220.

Are these mods worth the money

Just do the intake, jets, and exhaust if it's just for the kids. It'll look bad *** and won't go too fast.

Spindles, tie rods, ball joints - what's bearing the load here?

IMHO a tapered roller bearing would handle the load much better than ball bearings.
