    Ideas for my bike.

I know this. I'm not perfect at fabrication, but I fancy myself decent at it. I am well aware the difference in power. I used to have a fourtrax 200 and it was pretty peppy.

Do you know what your gear ratio and tire size is?

    Ideas for my bike.

I finally got my mini bike back a few weeks ago and got it running and riding beautifully. But there's one problem, it's not fast enough lol. I've looked into building my engine up a bit and putting a CVT on it, but that is pretty expensive. So I just put the idea of making the bike a bit faster...

Any idea what the replacement comet part would be?

If you aren't apposed to a new engine you'd be a lot happier with it rather than trying to get that one going properly.

Tecumseh made good engines in the 70s and earlier, but not any time recently. That's why you haven't seen them on anything new in a long time.

Help with Tecumseh engine - OHH60

With my 224 (the "MAX performance" version of the 212) I hit 40 in my kart with a 30 series CVT. It's all stock gearing and tire size, and I don't know either spec. But if you are looking for less speed they do come with a throttle stop screw installed

Help with Tecumseh engine - OHH60

The old flatheads were good until they weren't, I've never heard of seen any of the OHV Tecumseh engines running good.

I figured you might not have 150 bucks to drop on a predator 212. But a predator 212 should just bolt in with very little modifications.

Agreed. However a new engine isn't always an option. Carsandcameras once swapped a predator carb onto one and solved a lot of the running issues with it.

    Briggs 3hp build questions

Here in a week or so after I get the wiring redone in my workshop and get my go kart and fourwheeler parked elsewhere than in the middle of the shop I'll throw a coil on the engine to see if it runs before pulling it apart. If it runs good I'll tear it down to nothing but a pile of parts and...

Hmm, not sure if it is or not. I haven't actually pulled mine apart yet

    Briggs 3hp build questions

If you reference the picture I posted on the first page of the rod assembly, the rod is built a little different. There's not much there to drill through.

Which part in the rod? Could you maybe post a picture of what your talking about? Thanks!

    Briggs 3hp build questions

I read it on a thread on some forum a while back, I believe it was a 5HP engine, but the same likely applies to all of them.

    Briggs 3hp build questions

Yeah, I was gonna see what it would float at after modifying the dipper and replacing the flywheel. I've talked to my buddy a bit and he said although it isn't a great idea, I could try to grinding the cam with a file. I'm probably gonna snag 2 more cams for it off eBay so I can try one stock...

    $100 of fun. Who wouldn't?

Thanks, I'll have to look around. I only put a.tad of grease on the center where the driver slides, none in the drum. Thanks!

    $100 of fun. Who wouldn't?

I'll have to throw a straight edge on it and see, but you might be right. I kinda just slapped it together with parts I had and ripped it around a bit, even donuts in the driveway lol. Thanks for the advice

    $100 of fun. Who wouldn't?

It seems to spin beautifully. I put the thinest layer of high speed wheel bearing grease on the inside (making sure it didn't get on the pulley) and it spins smoothly. I am gonna try a comet belt first since y'all say it's the cat's meow. I couldn't find my dry lithium grease so I didn't grease...

    $100 of fun. Who wouldn't?

So then maybe I should spend the 30 bucks on getting a genuine comet belt and some dry graphite lube? I thought my issue was the CVT was disengaging too far, about 3/8" is uncovered by the brass bushing at idle
