I finally got my mini bike back a few weeks ago and got it running and riding beautifully. But there's one problem, it's not fast enough lol. I've looked into building my engine up a bit and putting a CVT on it, but that is pretty expensive. So I just put the idea of making the bike a bit faster on the back burner as I had better things to worry about. However the pot started boiling over when I was scrolling through marketplace and came across a Honda fourtrax 300 engine for just $250 in running condition with the wiring harness. I searched around a bit more for more options, and there's a handful of engines just like it on marketplace around me. I'm thinking one of those geared right would be fast, capable, reliable, affordable, and easy to get parts for. Not to mention it would be fun ripping through the gears and it would still be twist to go. What do you guys think?

Be ready to hold on tight. Power differences will be substantial. Not going to be easy to mount. Most sit in a cradle style position, not bolted to a flat plate. For sure some fabrication skills needed.

I know this. I'm not perfect at fabrication, but I fancy myself decent at it. I am well aware the difference in power. I used to have a fourtrax 200 and it was pretty peppy.
