I would definately go with the larger engine, if your worried about being too fast you could always change the sproket.

    Adjusting Gas Pedals

My school bus driver did that when I was a kid. She had two 2x4's screwed to both pedals.:roflol: I haven't thought about that in years.

    Steering Question

This seems to help some. It's just mocked up now. I plan to weld some gussets for strength later. Let me know what you guys think. It was binding up at the tie rod ends due to the angle was too steep and they were rubbing at the steering rod and the spindles.

    Coil is Fried!!!

Ding...Ding...Ding... You win the prize. That's exactly wht happened. For what ever reason I had it tied into the starter switch. Just a stupid mistake when I was wiring the switch panel. What really makes me sick is that it was a brand new coil.

    My New Project!

I agree with Theo, the exhaust needs to be the original or close to it. Other than that I think it looks awesome. That thing is going to move with that small sproket. I will ask what 454 did, where are you going to put the clutch? Maybe on the shifter handle? That's what I've seen before on a...

    Steering Question

I think I know what I need to do to correct my problem. Since I've turned this two seater into a single and moved the steering to the middle, both spindle arms need to lengthened to same length. If you notice in the pics of the original Murray the left side spindle arm is at a more straight up...

    Steering Question

I am going to try Theo's spindle trick. As far as the frame, it was laying in a scrap pile with no spindles, no floor pan, nothing basocally but the frame and the steering rod.

    Frame Question

I would use the tubular frame definately just for strength.

    Steering Question

I'll do my best to answer all questions. The steering parts are not stock Murray parts. They were all ordered off of the net. I have converted it from 2 seater to a single seater. 1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes Do you think if I lengthen the spindle arms or shortened the bell crank that might help? I...

    I'm back... Go-Zilla (video)

Funny you say that. The guy at "Go Kart World" told me the same thing. He suggested wheelie bars... :cheers2: Actually this thing has a torque averter system and a gear box (forward/reverse/neutral). The first run that was made didn't show any sign of wheelies so I think he's safe. The speed...

    Steering Question

Yeah, that's the one. I was extremely careful when i painted it and I have also greased the the shaft and the tie rod ends. I'm sort of stumped.

    Steering Question

I'll have to say that I have no idea. It's stock from the murray frame with the exception I've converted it to a single seat vs. a 2 seater.
