    ideal tractor transaxle for karts?

I saw an idea on youtube by fearlessfront to that effect (the extention). He thought of conecting a universal joint to the output going strait out to a bearing with a sprocketon the other side of the bearing. The bearing would have its own mount on the frame. This would releave the pulling...

Toystory said... ", I'm awfully tempted to try a combination of a CVT with a manual gearbox." Thats a kick a$$ idea! ideal tractor transaxle for karts?

is it worth it? Im a crappy judge of speed but i would guess its the same as the diffrence between first and top gear on any other type tractor. I would say it would be worth it if speed is top prioraty. Like gearing it to to start off at the most the motor can handle and using the speed pully...

    ideal tractor transaxle for karts?

In lawn tractor racing the Peerless 700 seems to be the most popular trans. Its and independant gear box that transfures the vetical belt drive to a horazontal chain drive creating the need for a kart axle. This is popular for a reason, it works really well. BUT, like most tractor trans setups...

    Lawn mower transaxle

Like i said, there are flaws in this idea. Lol thats why i never attempted it. I decided against two axles when useing a smaller pully would work better with less work and whieght. Plus i prefure to have an open diff for better steering function, transaxle life, tire life, and not leaving tracks...

    Lawn mower transaxle

I thought about doing something to that effect. The idea was to run a chain from one axle to a live axle, then weld the other axle on the transaxle to its housing. Stoping one side from spinning makes the other spin faster. There are some flaws with this idea like longjevity if the spinning axle...

    Semi-automatic transmission?

Try the variable speed pully set up found in many mtd tractors. All three of my tractors have this setup. The transaxle is just forward, reverse, and neutral. They use a fancy double pully that adjust between two belts. So as the pully moves forward the rear belt is pulled to the center of the...
